Care comes at a cost.

On her final shift before forced retirement, nurse Allison is ready to tell her story. But this is no ordinary farewell. As the hospital clock ticks towards midnight, she unravels a web of compassion, calculation, and cold-blooded justice that will make you question everything you know about care, mercy, and survival.

Performed by BAFTA Award winner Joanna Scanlan and written by acclaimed film critic Peter Bradshaw, MERCY is a darkly comic thriller with a twist that gently questions the boundary between care and something else entirely.

Also featuring Dempsey Bovell, Jason Forbes, Lesley Hart, David Holt, Finbar Lynch and Carl Prekopp.

Dynamic storytelling, I honestly wanted more and I thought, this is Crazy! But I couldn’t get enough, there’s a level of wit, humor, and delusion that makes the narrator so powerful. Wonderful read.

Twisted & So Good

Although “non orthodox” nursing practices is a recurring theme, this one had a peculiar penchant for humour that made the story flow softly. I wish there were some more chapters. Very entertaining!

Go into this with as little information as possible and then just let the story unfold. It is definitely unique and this is one I'm still going to remember when I look back at my reading list.

Superb, well done British humor! I really enjoyed this story and the narration is excellent.

Sharp, witty, dry humor

Loved the irreverent attitude & dark sarcasm of this outrageous British account of a nurse in the National Health Service! I laughed out loud multiple times at the crispy descriptions of patients & care given by the story's subject. Fabulous narration, esp the British accent used to perfection in key moments in the story. It really is funny although it's twisted. Definitely going to search for more books by this author. It was the best 180 degree narrative I needed after just finishing "The Alice Network", which was brilliant & beautifully written but emotionally draining.

Macabre humor extraordinare!
