A Tahlia Vedra Audiobook

Tahlia Vedra must face and try to repel the ambitious Helsmiths of Hashut, who threaten to overwhelm Hammerhal Ghyra with their inexorable armies.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Evan Dicken, author of Lioness of the Parch, brings Tahlia Vedra to life again and sets her against a new threat that will challenge her in ways she's never experienced. Can Tahlia overcome threats both within and without, and will the fires burning inside her be enough to unite her people and save Hammerhal?

THE STORY

When a marshal and his army are slaughtered without warning, First Marshal Tahlia Vedra is Hammerhal Ghyra's only hope. Tahlia must leave her beloved Aqshy behind to face the ruthless Helsmiths of Hashut, Chaos duardin who raze everything in their path. Defeating them will take more than her lauded strength and tenacity alone.

Now, Tahlia is a stranger in her own city. The first marshal no longer knows who she can trust amongst reluctant allies and jealous rivals. As old enemies seek to undermine her from within, the Helsmiths reveal a power more terrible than ever imagined. Facing utter destruction, Tahlia must fight like never before.

A fantastically fun adventure through Warhammer Age of Sigmar. It almost is enough to make me want to build a cities army, but that's just way too much work. An excellent book, and and even better Warhammer book. I did notice a bit of politics in that every man in the book was either a dick or an uptight prick (or both), but, otherwise, a fun read!

the book could have used more politics on action but it's pretty good since they kept the plot so straightforward

Was hoping for this book to salvage the character of Tahlia from Lioness of the Parch, but was sorely disappointed. They were able to retcon several failed aspects from the first book, but continued to weave a character that does nothing but fail upwards, relying on the sacrifices of others to get anything done. The climax of the book confirms her lesbian romance, making the whole book feel like a reddit mod explaining what a strong female should be.
