I’ve been a fan of the Nathan Heller series for a long time, and this is a fun adaptation of the stories. Great voice acting by a large cast.

Rich details, great performances, riveting story. Great directing. Fun weekend listen. The music, sound design, and the voice performances were cinematic.

Between the background music, voice acting and great story, I finished this in one sitting. It was the perfect length and I could visualize it in black and white as an old school noir/ gangster piece. I found out about this from the John Campea podcast that Robert Meyer Burnett is a part of and I will gladly spread the word and recommend this.

Immersive story. Excellent.

I’m a huge fan of the Heller series and I would love nothing more than each one to get a treatment like this. It felt like reading it anew - just fantastic storytelling.

I'm a longtime fan of Max Allan Collins, and the novel upon which this production is based, True Detective, is one of my all-time favorite noir crime novels. True Noir is a wonderful production on its own and captures the heart of the novel so well. Michael Rosenbaum as Nate Heller is amazing and more than holds up to the character created by MAC. I hate to use the term perfect, but honestly Michael Rosenbaum is as Heller as Heller gets. The entire cast, regardless of how small or large their role, is so very good and deliver great performances. The score and overall ambiance does terrific work in immersing one in the time period along with the great acting, writing and production. I recommend this very highly.
