After this tragic day, Elliot Leader and Candace O'Connell find that they have been literally blown into a world of chaos. What they find in the U.S. is daily death, destruction and disarray. The terrorist attack in New York City and the rapid spread of the apocalypse appear to leave no realm of solace for our stricken duo. As the days pass their actions, to simply survive, become continually more desperate, but they fight valiantly to carry on. BOOK I was, indeed, only the beginning of their danger filled journey in their quest to find shelter from the horrific nightmare that they have awoken to during these times of continually rising worldwide terrorism. Apocalypse Awakening BOOK II: 2016-Prologue to War follows the story of former English Professor Elliot Leader of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and his close friend Candace O'Connell in their attempt to travel from their devastated home in Florida to a hoped for "safe haven" at a mountain farm outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Along the way they face dangerous attackers and welcoming back woods strangers. Candace and Elliot find that their friend, Sergeant Folsom, had prepared them well for danger. But friendships come at a high cost!
