Perfect, except for…..

I love this series SO much! Love the characters, the magic, the folklore, literally everything about it. This shorter addition to the Raven of the Woods series was thoroughly enjoyable and delicious to listen to. My absolute only complaint is that it was over so fast. I really, really hope there are more books coming to the series.

Amazing world building

Mary Calmes has an amazing ability of character and world building. The Raven in the woods series is truly breathtaking and she keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you haven’t read or listened to this series then it is a must! Listen to others by this author as well. You won’t be disappointed

I will always tune in to what Xander is up too. This is an instant add, great performance lovely story.

I love this series and this world. So much was packed into this but it was a perfect addition.

You might be asking why I dropped a star for the story...it is because Amanda doesn't have two boys. Yes, the children are named Toby and JJ but in previous books, a lot of emphasis is placed on her second child. Especially the fact that the reason Amanda refuses to let Eddie's family care for her children, without her or Eddie's supervision, is because they arrogantly change JJ's attire into gender affirming dresses. They also refuse to use JJ and refer to the child as Julia, the name given at birth.

I beseech the author, in fact every author, to read their previous book (at least) before continuing such beloved series, especially to avoid glaringly obvious mistakes. It completely took me out of the story each time. If the author is too busy to read the previous book, Toby and JJ should have been referred to as "children" or "kids" instead of "boys".
