A brand-new library. A quiet village. One very inconvenient murder.

Judith Spears expected the opening of Little Pickton’s new library to be blissfully uneventful.

She was wrong.

When a body turns up among the bookshelves, Judith finds herself pulled into yet another tangled mystery—this time with an enthusiastic (and thoroughly nosy) librarian determined to turn the case into her next true-crime obsession.

As secrets begin to surface, it becomes clear that beneath the village’s polite smiles lies something far darker—something with roots deep enough to shake the town to its core.

With a determined London detective closing in on her past, Judith must rely on her usual allies—DS Raymond Collins and DC Sarah Eastly—to uncover the truth.

Because this time…

the past isn’t staying buried.

A warm, witty cozy crime mystery packed with eccentric characters and gentle twists — perfect for fans of Deany Ray, Richard Osman, Tom Hindle, and Ian Moore.

Should have stuck with the British voice used in previous books! Hard to get into the story when sounds so different. After first two books used a British accent, it was awkward. As I'd purchased the voice option, I couldn't even remove it.
