There’s nothing I want more than a life with him… but my past is the world’s worst wingman.

For a big chunk of my life, I expected to die along with the rest of my species. Nobody thought we’d make it, and I did my best to live in the now and enjoy every second of precious life.

Now that’s coming back to bite me in the ass.

Because the impossible happened, and we got our second chance. A safe home. A tomorrow worth planning for. And a future I want to spend with Dáithí.

He’s amazing—sassy, clever, the kind of guy who can cut you down with one eyebrow and still make you laugh. We’ve known each other a long time, and convincing him to date me was one of the best wins of my long life. Convincing him to be my boyfriend? That’s a fight I might not win.

Because the reputation I earned when I was living life to the fullest has stuck, and Dáithí’s convinced I’m only in this for a good time, not a long time. He’s protecting his heart from future damage by keeping things casual between us… even though they’re not.

How do I prove I want him forever?

I'm a huge fan of this author and the vivid world she's created. In the story, Eoin is known for being a playboy, having only shallow, short-term relationships. Dáithí, on the other hand, was deeply hurt by a previous partner and still struggles to move on. Because of Eoin's reputation, Dáithí doubts his sincerity about starting something real with him. To help, Alistair and friends come up with "The Summit of Love," a set of challenges meant to show Dáithí that Eoin truly wants a committed relationship. Watching Eoin enthusiastically tackle each task to prove his feelings was wonderful, and I'm excited to see what happens next.

I love this series

This one is super fun (in a middle-school human/hellhound/dragon kind of way). Think Alistair’s ridiculousness and give the “bros” a love challenge.

Fun!

i am not even halfway thru the book, but have already been laughing aloud more times than i can count. some of the antics these boys get into are just ridiculous - but in the best way. most of the latest books in the related CSG series have been pretty rinse and repeat fluff. enjoyable enough, but zero angst, both mc’s falling equally at the same time, predictable fluff. figured this would be more of the same, which, it is still light and fluffy, but all the nitty gritty details of the whole test for owain are pure comic relief and make this book stand out from the rest. i am thoroughly enjoying the experience.

a surprisingly delightful addition to the series

Dáithí & Eoin have been casually dating for over a year. When Eoin tries to hints for more, he finds out that Dáithí doesn’t believe Eoin can make a long-term commitment to him, because of Eoin‘s previous dating history. Eion convinces Dáithí to set some challenges so that he can prove himself capable of being in a committed monogamous relationship.

I love the story. It shows Dáithí and Eoin‘s relationship growing, and the love they have for each other.

Team Bros make an appearance, which had me cackling Alistair and the boys are so funny.

A definite sweetly-healing wounded heart/white knight tale. (I mean who hasn’t had their heart broken?)
And what a dreamy white knight Owen is… definitely too good to be true while not being perfect, and now all my future dates will have to measure up!

And based on the faint whiff of loose ends (very unlike this author/built world) I’m putting serious money on the next book featuring a certain second-in-command and a thorny, cantankerous hockey player… any takers?

Super sweet story…
