I was going for the long haul, the longest haul, with Hope.

Mac:

As a billionaire, I have everything I could ever want in life.

The only thing that is missing is her, Hope Sinclair.

She slipped through my fingers once and I vowed never to let it happen again.

Now that I have a chance to be with her, will she trust what we can have?

What will she do when she realizes it was all an elaborate scheme?

Hope:

I never thought that Mac Bennett would ever think of me as anything more than a friend.

Now he needs me to help his family out.

It's just a few dates, nothing more.

But when he looks at me, it is not as a friend. And I want more.

How do I tell him that I want it to be real?

The Billionaire Gentleman is an age gap fake romance set in New York City with plenty of heat and a guaranteed HEA and no cliffhangers

Mary Beth and Remy have struck again with setting up another son. For as smart and savvy as the Bennett sons are, they have a blind spot when it comes to love and set ups by their parents. Bailey their only daughter is settled as well as their son Walker after the last set up worked out. Now their sights are set on Mac, McCauley, their oldest son and the PR manager of the family company Bennett Liquor.

Mac has liked Hope since he was assigned her mentor in college five years ago. The age difference with him at the end of his academic career and her just starting as well as his role as mentor held him back from pursuing her. I still don't understand how he was assigned her mentor when she was pursuing a Literature degree to his presumable business degree.

Between JD having a crazy "ex" causing issues and being in the right place at the right time to save Hope from her ex wanting to get her to move to Boston to be with him, their fake dating seemed like the perfect thing to solve both their problems. Another PR move to save the family's reputation feels like another replay on the previous book's fake dating just with Mac and Hope having more of previous relationship than Walker and Morgan had.

Their relationship development feels much more organic that the previous books. I just didn't find it believeable that Mac's parents pulled off another set up through another contrived PR issue.

Posy Rose and J.C. Devlin once again are the narrators of this book. Again, as with the last book the quality of the recording has a distinct tinny reverberation that plagues his performance that detracts from their otherwise great dual performance. As a daily Audio book listener, I know it is exclusive to these books and not from my devices.

There were quite a few times that instead of McCauley being Mac's given name it comes across as McKinley. There was a point early on that explained that often people mistake his name as McKinley instead of McCauley as his name sake of Mccauley’s Virginia Bourbon Whiskey. All the siblings were named after well known alcohol, so McKinley doesn't fit.

I really liked the core storyline of The Billionaire Gentleman! The overarching plot and the characters themselves are highly engaging, which kept me interested in seeing how everything played out. However, the execution of the audiobook had a few hurdles. The narrative felt a bit choppy in places, and several of the scenes just did not read or translate well to audio. While the open-door spice is definitely there, some of the specific verbiage and descriptions threw off the natural flow of the scenes. Additionally, the narrators sounded a bit too young for their specific roles, making it hard to fully connect with the characters. Overall, it is a good story, but I think I would have enjoyed this one much more as an ebook rather than an audiobook listen.

Mac and Hope met in college when he tutored her in English lit and both harbored feelings for the other. Neither one said anything so they didn't act on it, but they never forgot. Now the press is harassing his brother, JD, and Mac's parents decide to match-make Hope and Mac to get the press off his brother's back. The way Mac interfered with Hope's ex, Bash, trying to persuade her to get back together, again, was perfect! Mac's statement that he and Hope are seeing each other leads to fake dating that becomes quite real. What I liked most about this story, other than the love between Hope and Mac, was the fact that there was little angst and I truly enjoyed it from the first page to the last.
The narration by Posy Rose and JC Devlin was very well done. Their clear, dynamic voices blended well together and their pace and emotion was spot on.

Another set-up by this family!
