Ever the optimist, Ainsely Hart doesn’t lose hope when her perfect world begins to unravel. Even when her dad is sent to prison and she loses everything, as well as having to move across the country.

She never guessed that it would be a boy who would test her patience, making her almost lose her cool more than a few times.

Ryker’s a slacker with a reputation and he seems to hate her for no reason. She makes it a point to be nice to everyone, but he makes it nearly impossible to be nice to him.

So why is it that he also happens to be the one person she can confide in?

Just the prologue and I’m already invested! Ainsley and her family have their lives turned upside down when her father is arrested for embezzlement. They leave their private school in California and move in with the grandparents in Ohio. New school, new friends and all the things that go along with that for teenagers. This is a great story full of growth, resilience and strength. While Ainsley, her siblings and friends navigate through some difficult situations and grow in the process. This is a quick listen (or read) with character connections from the very start. My only complaint is the ending wrapped up so quick and then was just over, but I often find myself wanting more when the story is engaging.

Super great YA Romance!

Things We Should Forget is a really great book about love, losing everything and heartbreak. Being a teenager and having her family start all over again after her dad got put in prison for embezzlement. This book covers so many issues that teens deal with everyday that many people never have to live through.
