Cheryl knows that she has the mutant gene but as yet it hasn't presented itself, so she isn't too concerned. However, on this particular day some guys are going to scare her and this helps bring her powers out. She was never sure how she'd feel about having power and kind of hopes it's something as simple as being able to change the color of her hair or something so boring no one would ever bother her. Unfortunately, we don't always get what we want and when she discovers what she can do with her mutant power, she realizes that her life is about to change in ways she couldn't possibly imagine.
