It was 2018.
I had just gotten divorced and was delivering food with GrubHub to make ends meet.
Starting in 2016, I had gotten obsessed with personal development to the point where I was researching things like goal-setting, habit formation, and making good decisions.
Taking into consideration that I was earning roughly $15 to $20 an hour with GrubHub, I needed to do something and soon.
I searched "work from home side hustles writing" and found a few ideas to start freelancing, one of them being writing resumes.
The way I figured, everyone needs a good resume, because everyone needs a job, right?
I dug deeper and found one way a lot of freelance writers advertise is via Craigslist.
Back then, you could advertise in the services section for free.
So, I put up an ad in my hometown of Knoxville, TN and lo and behold, someone wrote back asking for a resume rewrite.
As someone who has a tendency of giving up too soon, I realized years later after writing over 700 resumes, 300 cover letters, and 150 LinkedIn profiles, that had that person not reached out, I may have, once again, called it quits.
Seven years later, I see how the dots lined up and connected to get me to where I am now, earning $100 an hour working from home, doing what I enjoy, writing, and helping people make career shifts to find better work.
Quick facts to know about this book:
This book is short and is worth significantly more than it's priced.
The most I've earned is $800 a week doing this with a roughly $40 investment in ads that particular week.
In this book, you'll find strategies to market yourself, pitch your services, do the work, and create your brand.
If you are tired of working a 9-to-5 (like I was) and want to earn more, work less, and help some good people along the way, this book will show you how to do exactly that.
