I really tried the second series with an open mind

OK, I gave it my best effort and went into the second series with an open mind, but I am now believe the first series was tolerable compared to this series. Unfortunately, this series just did not get better.

Honestly, I can barely remember what the first book in this series was about—that's how little impact it had on me. Non-impressive characters and story.

Book two started out reasonably well, but before long it felt like a B-movie. I kept finding myself thinking, "Why would that character do something so stupid?" It was obvious what was going to happen next, and I lost count of the number of eye rolls I did. Between the overly sweet, baby-talk dialogue and the constant goo-goo expressions, and the stupidity of the characters, I probably rolled my eyes at least 35 times.

As for the last book, I fell asleep listening to the audiobook and had absolutely no desire to find out how the story ended.

One positive thing I can say is that several other authors allowed their characters to make cameo appearances or be referenced throughout the books. Unfortunately, even that wasn't enough to improve the experience for me.

At this point, anything else by this author is officially off my reading list.
