He decides to make a wish at the infamous kitchen well, a local legend found in an abandoned house in the rural community of Nowhere, Oklahoma.

As the team begins to win in miraculous ways, it seems Logan’s wish is coming true. But every wish from the well comes with a consequence, and soon Logan and his teammates will discover what they are willing to sacrifice for glory.

Set in the early 2000s, this sports horror novel delivers on both. A blend of coming-of-age drama, high stakes basketball, and chilling scenes of supernatural consequences, it is perfect for fans of The Ring, The Only Good Indians, and The Long Walk.

Champions of Nowhere is a standalone novel set in The Forgotten Counties, a fictional world based on the rural communities in southeastern Oklahoma and Indian Country.

Careful what you wish for

This was absolutely fantastic. As a longtime lover of basketball, horror, and coming-of-age tales, I couldn’t have asked for a better blend than this.

Phil does a terrific job narrating, and Fright Night Audio’s production is second to none.

This author is definitely on my radar now. You don’t see a lot of supernatural sports fiction, but this is done perfectly. I couldn’t recommend it more to any horror/sports fan.
