Blair isn't just marked by this world, now she's bound to it. As the shadows within her deepen, so do the ties that anchor her to a fate she never asked for. With power she barely understands, unexpected bonds that pull her in opposite directions, and a destiny that refuses to loosen its grip, Blair trains to become the strongest version of herself before the darkness overtakes her.

But while danger creeps in from every direction and prophecies whisper of an ending she cannot outrun, Blair walks a thin line between who she once was and who this world demands her to become. Some connections were made to protect her. Others were forged to keep her in the dark. This is Book Two in the Shadowed Series, completing the duology.

Bound is a dark, emotional romantasy perfect for listeners who crave shadow magic, rising power, and high-stakes transformation.

I loved the story. All the twist had you guessing. The ending heartbreaking; they get you attached to the characters.

Lots of twist

Bound, the second book in the Shadowed series, was a stronger read than the first. Blair really comes into her own here, growing into her abilities and becoming a much more confident and capable character. The story continues to unravel the mysteries surrounding the prophecy, the Shadowborn, and the secrets buried beneath them, which kept me invested throughout.

That said, I struggled with the romance. The connection between the FMC and MMC felt driven more by physical attraction than emotional depth, so I never fully connected with their relationship. There were also a few plot threads that felt underdeveloped or left unresolved by the end.

The narration was well done and helped bring the story and characters to life. Overall, this was an enjoyable continuation of the series, even if it didn’t quite reach its full potential.

Overall 3.5/5
