I suck at being a vampire—literally. When the Halloween Wave turned a third of the population into monsters, I thought I was one of the lucky ones. I get to have my fit twenty-year-old body for decades. And vampires are supposed to be sexy, right?

But now that I'm finally in university, I still don't fit in. I was supposed to find myself and spread my metaphorical vampire wings. Yet, I'm not good enough to be an academic, and too inept at flying to hang with monsters like me. At least flirting with my new nerdy lab partner can be some fun in the meantime.

I can't stand my lab partner. It's not because he's a monster—far from it, I find vampires attractive. But jocks don't go for academics like me, especially airheads like Clay. We only need to get through this class.

Then one day we're nursing an injured bat together, and Clay's sweet, compassionate side rears its teeth. Despite my best efforts, this gorgeous bloodsucker has me enchanted. When he wants to learn to fly, how can I refuse? This jock keeps failing at taking to the sky, but I fear I'm the one that's falling. A nerdy human like me dating a himbo vampire could spell a monster-sized disaster.

Pretty Fly for a Vampire Guy is a spicy paranormal romantic comedy set in the Creepin U shifter universe. Don't listen if you're not interested in nerd-jock connections, flying lessons through the forest, monsters at university, and yes, a happily ever after.

This one was cute!

Overall just a cute pick me up love story. Bat dads, young love and a very good voice actor adding depth to the characters.

Cute story !

The narrator for Clay was not great , his voice is pleasant but the pacing of his words was both too slow and somewhat jumpy.

The story itself was very cute !

Relatable environments and cultures

Narrator could use more flow and less reading from a script. There were times when I got fed up with the narration and just stopped listening.

Such a Cute Monster Rom-Com!

I had read Pretty Fly for a Vampire Guy when it first released, and my immersive re-read was an absolute treat! Espen Cooper and Babur Shah were the perfect duo to bring Clay and Owen, aka the cutest bad dad couple, to life! Cooper did a fabulous job as Clay, the himbo vampire who is crushing hard on his new lab partner — he embodied his carefree persona, soft side beneath his jock exterior, and the vulnerability in looking for a family and acceptance. Shah did Owen and his range of emotions justice — his guarded nature in the presence of Clay trying to hide his true feelings, and the vulnerability in having to reevaluate what he thought he knew about his lab partner.

What else can you expect?

A cute, opposites attract, monster romcom with a little tension and angst, a nice sprinkling of spicy times, and a Hallmark-worthy HEA!

Clay and Owen were the CUTEST! Underneath Clay’s jock exterior was a vulnerable man trying to find his place in the world, and Owen provided a safe space for Clay to open up. Owen had preconceived notions about the hot water polo player and when those were put to the test? Owen had to reevaluate his hypothesis about the direction of his relationship with Clay and the data spoke for itself on their compatibility. I was giggling, kicking my feet up and smiling pretty much the entire time I was reading! If you’re looking for a cute monster romcom, this is it!
