A bubblegum listen with lots of sex.

Contrary to the dark, angsty looking cover, this was instead a fun, if slow moving, rom-com-mystery adventure involving humans, fae, demons, and yes, a single vampire who is the last of his kind. I found the first book exasperating for Zora being a dim doormat, but came to understand the rhyme and reason as things progressed. The girlish voice of the narrator contributed to the air-headed feel, although by book two it sucked me in and worked quite well with the story. I also appreciated that this new version separates the each “book” in a Table of Contents (something the prior version didn’t do).

Warnings:
⛔️Each “book” is more like parts one, two, and three of a six book arc, so if you can’t abide cliffhangers, be prepared to move on to the “books 4-6” collection.
⛔️ The next collection devolves into the eternal struggle against unkillable beings. Each “book” features overlong sex scenes with book 5’s hour-long sexathon in chapters 12 and 13 being the worst offender. For me, this original series finished on the okay end. I will move onto the spinoff series at some point, since they appear to be a tad shorter.
