Sweet and Charming

I love Sally Britton’s style of writing. Her stories are light and airy and just make you feel good.

Lyness is a tender-hearted, gentle hero and his stammer makes him downright charming. While I’m not a fan of the “doormat MMC” trope at all and that was a bit of a sticking point for me, he does redeem himself quite well. Both characters struggle with deep insecurities, past hurts, and learning to trust their own hearts as well as each other — but they come through in the end.

This book is truly a love letter to the beautiful city of York, which is a character in this story on its own.

As always, Jessica Elisa Boyd does a splendid job with narration.

The words left unsaid

I loved the characters. They were strong, faithful and kind but so insecure. It was enjoyable to watch them overcome those insecurities.
