Jack Pinter and his teenage son, Patrick, are stranded in Cabin Four as the storm cuts off all communication. The temperature drops by the hour, and the howling starts outside in the dark. They barricade the doors and prepare to fight. But the pack outside is smart, using abandoned mining tunnels to coordinate their attacks from below.

With the generator dying and their barricades splintering, Jack and Patrick have only crude silver-tipped spears and a cache of unstable old explosives standing between them and the pack. The mountain hides a secret that has slept for a century, and tonight, it is awake and hunting.
