Quinn is a third-rate mechanic on a fourth-rate salvage ship, just trying to make enough credits to fix his broken coffee machine. When he stumbles across a sleek, mysterious artifact in the wreckage of an ancient dreadnought, he thinks he’s finally hit the jackpot.

He didn't realize the artifact was a sentient, world-destroying bomb named Walter.

Walter is polite, highly neurotic, and going through an existential crisis. He doesn't want to blow up the galaxy, but his programming is getting awfully itchy. Now, Quinn is stuck babysitting a weapon of mass destruction who needs constant emotional validation to keep his countdown timer at bay.

Hunted by space pirates, an aggressive cult of nihilists, and Walter’s original creators, Quinn must drag his ragtag crew across the galaxy to find the one person who knows how to defuse a depressed bomb.
