Poorly advertised: nothing like Dresden Files

Marketing has done the author and narrator a massive disservice by setting the expectation of a work similar to and a good choice for fans of The Dresden Files. It is not. Very different pace, performance and environment.

Monster Squad meets X-Files meets Monty Python!

Creature Crime Caper, mix in with a pinch of dry British wit, and add in a dash of Mulder and Scully.

A detective with integrity.

A soldier that's a gentleman. and accidentally becomes a paranormal investigator. He respects the girls, deals honestly with his clients, and STILL finds himself in hijinxs with every tale. He has a conscience and is honest about his libido arguing with his morals. I love the writing style and the narrator does a beautiful job bringing this humorous detective adventure to life. If this was a movie it would probably be PG 13 at most. Raunchy at times with the side characters (who I am totally shipping by the way) but the primaries act with integrity and class. I can't wait to hear more about James/ Jane, and the developing snogfest that is Precious and Big Ben.

Story was awesome

It was suspenseful, humorous, and well written. My only issue was with the male narrator that had a weird cadence to his reading with numerous pauses mid sentence. I found listening to him annoying. The female narrator was great.

Good story. Poor narration.

While I did enjoy all the stories, the narrator does not fit the main character. He comes across, in my opinion, sounding too old. He puts WAY too many uncalled for pauses throughout and is very slow, flat and dry. This takes away from my overall enjoyment and ending up with a 3 star review. I'm going to make sure I have that narrator screened out of any future choices.
