Painful to listen to

I loved the Clovenhoof series and A Spell in the Country, but had to quit this one. The creature names and accents are unintelligible and painful to my ear. The Scottish character accents are difficult for me to understand as an American, but that won’t be a problem for others. The story is good but lacks the “laugh out loud” of the other Heide and Iain books. I’ll try the Sam series next but this one is definitely a miss for me.
