REALLY GOOD!

I LOVED THE BOOK AND NOW LOVE THE AUDIOBOOK!

Akira and River are so wonderful together with a terrific connection I liked. I adored being able to hear them and relive their story another way. Definitely recommend!

Kitsune

Akira and River story was entertaining with some interesting characters, a new happy couple at the end of the journey, and old characters that give their fifty cents.
It was interesting to see this grumpy – sunshine adventure, how they bonded and get over all their obstacles, as well as the way the mate lore was presented.
I liked the narrator’s cadence and voices, how he expressed emotions and key points in the story.

Akira

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. I've read a couple of the previous books in this series, and each one is better. I love to see River come out of his shell and discover what he really likes. Akira is sweet, flirty, and amazing.

Little fox 🦊

At first, it felt a bit strange listening to this audiobook because it had a different narrator than the previous books, so it took me a little while to get used to the different voice performance. But once I adjusted, I really enjoyed it. The narrator has a deep, pleasant voice that was easy to listen to.
The story itself is low angst. It focuses on Akira (a kitsune, a nine tailed fox) and River growing closer as they discover that the bond between them is deeper and older than they originally thought. I enjoyed listening to another book in the Black Cat Circus series.

Love this performance!

Performance: This audiobook is narrated by Oliver Williams. The way he speaks as Akira is like an upper crust noble in a historical romance. When he flips to River, he becomes so youthful and fresh. This is the joy of an audiobook for me. The differences in each character’s vocals.

Story: For Akira, this book is good, so very good. For me there are so many reasons to love this couple. Akira and River have a push and pull of attraction between them. It is so fun to watch and yes I said watch. I feel like I can them in mind's eye. I love how River gets strong enough to handle his uncle. I adore how Akira feels safe enough to show his inner fox to River. I felt like I highlighted so many passages. The teasing, the smirking, the dressing room, so many little moments that turned a barely friends pair into a loving couple. What I love most about about Akira and River is how they built a family at the Black Cat Circus when they both struggled to fit in at first. Yes, River had Indy/Peanut and Akira had Rhea, but on their own they didn't quite fit. The friendship that grew between them is what opened their eyes to what could be.
