Edict: AI is a sci-fi parable about the dangers of putting the future of humanity in the hands of an unstable tech billionaire. It features individuals who are familiar with Jurassic Park, I, Robot, and Brave New World and have taken away all the wrong lessons. The characters are all fictional, but the problems are all too real, too plausible, and too near in the future for anyone's comfort.

An unconventional tale for our near future

The book is a solid 4/5 stars, J.S. Morin paints a believable and entertaining tale of what could be our futures. The fifth star comes from the way the author has decided to share this tale. There are multiple novelas that show potentially different outcomes along the same storyline. Honestly when first listening to this I thought the audible book had had some kind of malfunction, but no it is purposeful and a great tool for this story.

Worth it

One of the characters asks the AI. What would I look like in that outfit that another character is wearing? And then has to ask a AI what would I look like if it was sized for me, that's not a direct quote. But that's the general gist of what happened. I'm very early in the book. But just for that one interaction, I'll have to say this book is totally worth it. If you're a science fiction fan and you've dealt with AI at all. Perhaps you'll find it just as amusing as I have. I'm not gonna proofread this, and I did it using talk to text. So whatever grammarical errors, there are blame, an AI

is this dystopian scifi or a news article from tomorrow's paper?

"Observation": Morin and Naramore continue to be a perfect match. Morin's warning in this book about the implications of how unstoppable AI has the potential of being, feels like it could be lifted from any newspaper article to be printed tomorrow/next week/any given day upcoming. Edict AI highlights how dangerous man playing God really can be, due to arrogance, greed, lack of foresight, laziness, etc.

Mikael continues to prove that he is the gold standard of voice over work. It helps that his source material is written with so much life, which is where Morin really shines.

One of JS Morin's longest books to date. I still finished it in just under 5 days, kept me hooked the whole time. Great work all around.
