Long story short, I was betrayed by the people I thought I could trust. They invaded my sky palace, stole my women, and enslaved my pet shadow hounds. The emperor, fearful of my amassed power, killed my guards and destroyed me.

Mana, the source of my previous power, brought me back in the body of a dying prisoner. I don’t know how or why. But I can tell you this much. Now that I’m back, I have revenge in mind.

The emperor and his puppets think they are safe, barricaded in their strongholds, willingly sacrificing their own flesh and blood for security. And they have the nerve to call me bad?

Death, it turns out wasn’t all bad. It showed me what was truly important. But before I can get around to living my second life, I have some retribution to dish out.

Really great start

Story hooked me instantly. I crushed the book from start to finish without stopping. Characters are great and story is super interesting and has good development. Narrators did a fantastic job. Will be buying the next book 100%. I can’t wait

Love it!

Absolutely love it but it took me a while to realize I've heard this before. I'm not sure if it's a rewrite or just re recording. Either way I can't wait for the rest.

The personality of the girls

I love the story it was pretty good The voice acting was really great too I was a little hesitant first about the MC's personality I thought he was going to be an arrogant ass and a cruel person but I was surprisingly wrong I grew to like him and all the personalities of the females were really funny and good and took no shit off anyone did I have to end on a cliffhanger though lol now I got to wait for book two I would recommend this book to anyone it's actually pretty good

Ok… Let’s have a talk.

The story is great. The spice is hot and heavy. The characters are fun and diverse. The VAs… oh man the VAs are just … chefs kiss.

TLDR: If you’ve read Fostering Faust and enjoyed that MC and dynamic, this will feel very familiar and fun, otherwise it may put some off. (I love FF, hence why this got a solid score.)

If there is a single glaring weakness to be had, it’s that the MC and LI in this story follow some very ‘old school’ styles. There’s very little romance, the girls kind of just chase the MC because he’s powerful after he convinces them of his power and he’s worth following. It doesn’t really bother me, I love a good power hungry LI / Conan style MC. But reader be warned. The MC is aggressive and assertive.

It took me a few chapters to readjust mentally after so many MC lately have been more loving, and caring, and overall tender, oh no, not Adíen. He takes what he wants and is happy with what he’s gained. He’s not cruel or humiliating, but he is dominant, and very firm in his desires and wants.

I don’t want every main character like this, but it’s done well here for this type of story. I will be grabbing book 2.
