Willa and Remi. The names alone sound like a match made in heaven. But heaven is not where they meet.
Remi has never missed a sleep window. Armed with enchanted dust and an encyclopedic knowledge of REM cycles, his job is to keep the world’s most chaotic minds drifting peacefully off to sleep, one graveyard shift at a time.
Willa hasn’t had a peaceful Tuesday since before dinosaurs walked the earth. As a WishTrender, she can’t use actual magic. That’s strictly WishGranter territory. So every completed wish requires a perfectly timed coincidence;. It’s exhausting, improvisational, and she wouldn’t trade it for anything.
When they accidentally cross paths—Remi determined to put his client to sleep, Willa equally determined to keep him awake long enough to finish his wish—their meticulous plans detonate against each other in spectacular, emotional disaster.
It should have ended there. But they are inexplicably drawn to each other, and it is absolutely forbidden for them to occupy the same space at the same time.
But Remi finds himself replaying the sound of her laughter while Willa keeps engineering reasons to cross his path. He smells like expensive coffee and starlit libraries. A scent that smells like home. A scent that tempts Willa to make wishes of her own.
But wishes often go awry.
And the Mythological Oversight Guild is not going to accept their new connection without a fight.
