Publisher's summary

"Nikki, the Mowgli girl, is caught in the strife of the two global forces. Her only way to survive is to ruin their game and turn into the third global force. Her young shoulders are pressed down by the unbearable weight of decisions that would shape the future of the human race. If, in order to save the world, you have to forfeit your love and sacrifice the life of your best friend – is it worth it?"

“One of the most interesting books in AstroNikki. It’s written for young adults, but is of great interest for the young and the grown-up people. It’s a piece of educational fiction that throws the reader into the turmoil of contemporary research. The girl Nikki spent 10 years on an asteroid, alone, in the custody of the smartest computer in the world that had turned itself into a part of her body. She was three when the spaceship on which she was traveling with her parents crashed into the asteroid, and she was left alone. Nikki was found and brought back to the human world. Smart, resourceful and motivated, she struck friendships, passed the tests to the elite Einstein School on the Moon, where she studied physics, chemistry, anatomy, biology and other sciences. There’s a detective line there too, the crash of the spaceship was by no means an accident, Nikki’s life is threatened. I would recommend the books to anyone; these days, such a piece of fiction is a rarity." Review of Irina, a librarian

"To sum it up: Gorkavyi has come us with an excellent piece of young adult fiction, something that, in our literature, is in a deplorable state. With all its faults, AstroNikki takes out almost all of our sci-fi books for young adults… for it treats teenagers as equals, without patronizing pats on the shoulder." From a review in The Fantasy World

"I have recently come to think that we lack true feeling in our today’s world… And this book was like a breath of fresh air. I was shocked when I began to feel, to empathize as I read one line after the other. I worried for the girl, I admired her, I joined her in hating her enemies."

"AstroNikki is packed with dazzling optimism."

"It’s a real ode in prose to brainwork and justice. It’s a piece of genius! It only took me one day to read the first two books. The third and the second also took one day."

"AstroNikki is a merge of sci-fi, dynamic plot and a huge store of positive emotions. The best sci-fi books can only be written by scientists, those who have the scientific ideas of the day on the tip of their fingers. AstroNikki is a perfect example of such a book."

"Throughout the book (or rather, the whole cycle) Nick Gorkavyi keeps telling us that nothing is impossible. “Impossible” is a self-imposed limitation. And if, rather than complain about something being impossible, we would direct the same energy towards looking for a solution, the results would be stunning."

"Aaaaa, here’s the end of the book L But I’m so happy to discover this new series! Ehhh, I will go look for the next part, I need something to do at 2 AM…"

From 155 reviews on Livelib (4.3 out of 5; 1,678 global rating)

"When you finish this book, you feel an urge to do something with your life, to study, to improve yourself and the world. There’s no one to do it, except us. I will definitely give this book to my children when they get older". Otzovik
