Great story, very good narration

The narration is very good - smooth, right amount of emotion, good inflection. I did find the way "he said" "she said" was spoken irritating. If it were said more softly, it would have been better to me. The story itself is excellent with great characters, great suspense and twists and turns, and romance sprinkled in.

great audio book for a long car ride!

Overall the book was good and entertained us from Texas to Alabama and back!

Another great FBI thriller

I enjoyed the story . The only thing I didn't care for was at times they had conversations between two characters with short sentences so it was a constant "Sherlock said blah blah, Molly said blah blah,Sherlock said blah blah" and on and on which was annoying. They could have broken it up by adding some of the "Sherlock said and Molly said" after the character spoke instead of always at the start of the statement. You already knew who was speaking at !easy switch it up some. That would have made those conversations much easier and more interesting to listen to. Other than that I enjoyed everything else about the story.

The narraters were very distracting. I couldn’t concrete on the story because the narraters were very distracting.

What could Catherine Coulter have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Have someone else read the book.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Those children voices were just terrible.

Meh. Not really worth the money.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

This book was simple and predictable, and there was barely any suspension of disbelief.

What aspect of Jim Meskimen and Deanna Hurst ’s performance would you have changed?

Mediocre story-line aside, I probably would have enjoyed it more if the female narrator was better. I couldn't get over the children's voices... they sounded like the way I talk to my cats... whiny and high-pitched; no child actually speaks like that.

I wanted to give the narration 2 stars, but settled at 3 because Jim Meskimen wasn't bad, and he actually had some inflection and fun character personalities. If he had performed the entire book, I might have given it a higher rating.

Narrators ruined it for me

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I think fans of C.C. will like or love this book. I couldn't get past the Narration. I had just listened to book 2 and that narrator was awesome.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The plot was good. The story moved along at a good pace.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

They lacked anima. They just seemed flat. I should say I had just listened to book two and was comparing, without intension. Book two narration made the characters come to life.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was disappointed because I love the characters Savage and Sherlock. In this book they seemed like different characters.

Any additional comments?

I think if you hadn't listened to other narrators portray Savage and Sherlock you might really enjoy this book.

I am sorry but when the women reading this book does the child's voice it is like chalk on a blackboard and I HAVE to quit listening

Disappointing

This one was a real disappointment. The story was unnecessarily complicated and frankly a bit boring compared to other books in this "series". The narration was also a definite disappointment. I admit I am not a fan of multiple narrators for one book and I found it distracting in this book. The male narrator in particular was very annoying, using exaggerated accents and overly babyish voices. The Tommy Lee Jones impression for one of the main male characters was particularly annoying. Overall, I'd say skip this book.

Inferior ham-fisted storytelling. Waste of time and money. Just dont do it, or you'll be sorry.
