Publisher's summary

Jesus Christ changed the world - but did he ever lose his sandals? He healed others - but was he ever sick? If he was God, why didn't he know everything? Did he have friends? Did he ever tell a joke? Did he laugh? What about his sexuality? How did he change the world for believer and unbeliever alike?

After four years of meticulous research, C.D. Baker invites his readers to encounter the Jesus of the Gospels, though in ways they may not have expected. Becoming the Son: an Autobiography of Jesus is a unique, daring, and inspiring novel that reveals the astonishing possibilities of what could have been. What readers will experience in this audiobook is likely to change their lives, forever.

Another fabulous book from C.D. Baker!

This book is outstanding!!! I was hooked from the very beginning and could not put it down. I finished in one day, or I guess I should say one night, as I stayed up half the night listening! The book is very well written and the narration is spot-on. Overall, definitely credit worthy.

This review is 2 in 1. My mom listened to it and finished it in record time. It usually takes her forever to finish audible books because she gets distracted and has to continuously backtrack to find out what she missed while her mind was wandering! This book held her attention from beginning to end. She loved it and has recommended it to several of her friends.

I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

CORRECTION, PLEASE

As the author, I really try to accept negative reviews with humility. However, one of the reviews on this platform is so inaccurate that I need to respond. Reviewer, JRT, complains that I have a scene in which 'Mary and Joseph had sex in front of their children.' Let me assure everyone that NO SUCH SCENE is in this book. I will assume that JRT mis-heard the narrator, or confused this book with another. Both can easily happen. Unfortunately, Audible.com has no way to remedy such a mistake.

I hope readers/listeners will enjoy 'Becoming the Son.' My purpose in writing was to honor Jesus Christ by respectfully exploring his humanity and in so doing, invite us all to more fully appreciate our own.

What a great way of knowing Jesus

The author has touched me to my soul. I never believed I could feel what it would be like to walk in Jesus"s shoes...but I was captivated by this form of literature. Changed my life!

Intriguing insight into the Jesus we (should) Seek

First off Troy did an exceptional job performing this, it felt genuine and conveyed the story the way it was intended. Undertaking this is dangerous since nothing should ever be added or taken away from Scripture but the author did a good job walking this line and prefaced his exploration with that in mind. Grasping the sovereignty and the humanity of Jesus stretches (and should) the capacity of our brain and that is why this is a 'heart' issue as much as a "mind" one. Just like Passion of the Christ takes a true story and uses artistic license or Left Behind speculates on the end-times, for followers of Christ stories like this can evoke a deep desire to know Christ more and that it does. For those seeking the truth it is my hope and I think the hope of the author that it brings them to accept the gift that has already been given.
There were a couple of times where Jesus came off arrogant but it was minimal and really only highlighted his own personal human struggle of becoming Jesus. Humor and insight were used without going too far in my opinion, and for me, validated some of what I thought already about Jesus. This was time well spent and I recommend this book for anyone who knows Jesus of the Bible or want to know more, while referencing the Scripture itself. We can test everything by doing this and should anyway. Well done CD and Troy! This was provided to me by the author for free for an unbiased opinion

Extremely Affecting, Interesting Story!

This "autobiography" of Jesus is very well-written and made me feel even closer to Him. I was touched by His growth into His "role", if you will, as the Lord and Savior, and how he gained His understanding of His destiny and God the Father's will for Him. Troy Duran has been my favorite narrator for a while now, and once again, he did and a fantastic job; his voice, pace, tone and style are a perfect fit! I also found the short instrumental transitions to be a very nice touch. I really enjoyed this book!

TERRIBLE

Had to stop at the part where he states Mary and Joseph had sex in front of their children. This book was satanic imo
