Direct and eye opening

I've listened to this two times because it takes some time to "digest". If it's your first time listening to Guy Finley let me tell you that if you give his teachings a chance (and time) you will be surprised by your new observations. It does take some effort because it's so different than what we're used to hear in our daily lives. I really recommend Guy's work, I can sincerely say that I'm more peaceful thanks to the things he points out...

Transformative!

Loved every minute of this book. Guy offers an invitation to see beyond our habitual, limited Personalities and provides the insight that serves to dissolve the barriers, the resistance to FREEDOM. Highly recommended to those committed to liberation.

Refreshing and Fun

I have come to the understanding that so many many authors of this type are really saying the same thing just in a new way. His way is entertaining, honest, engaging. I took the time to write this because after listening to this a few times I decided I wanted to see what else he had out there. So weird to hear negative reviews of various works of his..picking him apart..his voice, what he is lacking in. I wanted to go on record as not agreeing with that and saying I reallllly enjoyed it. AND a few months later came back and just bought two more of his things I am listening to one now. Very enjoyable , nothing I have not heard in a different way but I am completely enjoying his way , his humor his freshness and candor and joy.
With all humility I'd like to add that I have read quite a bit and study a spiritual path for a living ( yoga teacher ). As such , it is fairly rare that I don't value in something that I feel drawn to. My happening upon this author is purely serendipitous. I wasn't looking for something like this but I am delighted to have found it.

As good as always, thank you Guy!

It seams that some people cannot like Guy Finley.

But for the ones who already loved any of his work, and to anyone who is in pain, understanding that something is not right in the way they live and are open for a change... this is for you !

It is a great speech !

great in depth study of how our divided mind works

What did you love best about Being Fearless and Free?

is goes into more detail than any self help book I have read in describing why we do what we do (how our divided mind works).

What was one of the most memorable moments of Being Fearless and Free?

being fearless is really about letting go and living in the present moment. we ARE NOT our thoughts and we should not let our thoughts run our lives. probably the most profound statement made by guy finley (and I believe it was from this book) is "the only truly successful people in this world are those that want nothing from it."

Have you listened to any of Guy Finley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

this has more content than any other guy finley book i have read. I did read the SECRET OF LETTING GO. I would rate that at three stars while I would rate this book as five stars because it is so rich in content. it is very deep and you will probably need to listen to it a number of times to grasps and start to understand how our divided mind works.

Any additional comments?

it's a real treasure. very deep in analyzing the divided mind but after your listened to it a number of times and studied it, you'll realize the vast amounts of important truth this book has.

Needle in a Haystack

I wish this author/speaker (this is NOT a book, but a series of lectures) would spend more time working on getting to the point of what his philosophy is. I respect that life is complex, I respect that thinking and writing is labor, but I do not accept a thesis that cannot be distilled down to a simple statement - and THEN unwrapped with metaphors, examples etc. In the mind of the speaker, his thesis must be simple, but for me, I don't see what he is trying to say/convey. I hope he reads this and I hope he takes some time on meditation WHAT he wants his listeners to get out of the experience. Compare this to books like "Outliers", where the synopsis is distilled down, but time is being spent on giving evidence and examples that opens your mind to what the author is trying to convey. I do like his stories/metaphors - they work. What does not work is the speakers seeming inability to convey what his thesis is. Perhaps it is just to disorganized? It is like a non edited text. It needs a few rounds of re-writing. Simplicity is hard. That is why it is desired.

This is not an audiobook!

This is a series of lectures that are completely slow and rambling and has almost no point. Utter waste of time and money. Most of his ideas are stolen from other authors in the space and I'd suggest reading Seneca if you want to go straight to the source of the ideas. Skip this one.
