I enjoyed this book. The narrative dragged on at times, but overall I couldn't believe what these children -including the narrator - had to endure. I recommend it, especially if you are enjoying Leah Remini's show and have read her book (not to overshadow Mrs. Hill's book)

LOVED IT!!

Very good to get the truth out!! My dentist boss took us all to Portland to help his staff help him make more money..I became a suppressed person SP and found myself without employment as the dentist desperation over-road any commitments or real understandings of being an employer.. SO DISTRACTIBLE AND CONTROLLING WHILE THE SCEINTOLIGIST FILL THEIR POCKETS $$$ with money he didnt have in the first place!!

Intriguing book

I found this book engrossing. Incredibly sad how so many kids have had their childhood stolen from them by Scientology. Not the best structured book, but a genuine story told as she experienced it.

I didn't know anything about Scientology until this book. Now I'm very interested in it. I can't believe they get away with everything that they do to people.

Unbelievable

I have heard many things I thought were exaggeration, but t his account is so detailed, corresponds with others, and is so extremely personal...and she's brutally honest, even with her own faults, mistakes, and errors. This "religion" is nothing more than a money making scam that caters to the rich and famous. Appalling!

Great listen. Informative inside look..

I had listened to the book "Inside Scientology" a year ago and was fascinated by their believes.. When I say fascinated, I mean kind of shocked at their believes and practices, and how they seem to take control of a persons life..

This book will give you an even closer look at the religion and what it's like to have your life controlled by them..

Jenna's account of her life, from birth to escape, is very interesting. She starts by talking about happy memories she has.. Listening to her story, one can understand the allure that pulls people into the cult .. But once in it, and once the control of one's life takes over, it's easy to see why she wanted to leave.....

If you are curious about Scientology and what it really is, you'll enjoy this book.. Very secretive religion. After listening to these two books, it sounds more like a cult to me.

What did you like best about this story?

Despite the differences between the church of Scientology and the church I grew up in and left earlier this year there are startling similarities. It was a carthartic read and helped me not feel so alone. It helped me see that despite the focus of the cult (even if it portrays itself as Christian) it is still in fact a cult and therefore dangerous. It has given me hope and excitement to continue speaking out, not necessarily to help others get out as that is something they have to see themselves before being able to make the needed steps but more so to help others avoid this organization altogether. Big thanks to the author for having the courage to escape and then speak out
