Publisher's summary

A magical breadbox that delivers whatever you wish for - as long as it fits inside? It's too good to be true!

Twelve-year-old Rebecca is struggling with her parents' separation, as well as a sudden move to her Gran's house in another state. For a while, the magic bread box, discovered in the attic, makes life away from home a little easier. Then suddenly it starts to make things much, much more difficult, and Rebecca is forced to decide not just where, but who she really wants to be.

Laurel Snyder's most thought-provoking book yet.

An Inventive Magical Read

This story made me laugh and cry. And I loved the inventive way the bread box was used for magic. Rebecca got into some unintentional mischief and it was interesting to see the approach she took to fix things. I'm thankful this book had been recommended to me. Worth it!

Finally found a book my 5th grader would read!

My daughter hates to read but if forced to read daily for Accelerated Reader and takes quizzes. She chooses books below her level just to get through them quicker. She read most of this book before I got the audio version. I did that so she could finish faster and take the quiz. This is the first 8 point book she has willingly read and loved it. She doesn't usually like fantasy or magic storylines. She said this one was different. This a happy mom makes! She won't be struggling to get her points this quarter or miss the reward trip for not getting her points. Thank you Laurel Snyder for a great book. I gave the narrator 4 stars only because my daughter didn't like the way she pronounced Megan like "mee-gan".
