Publisher's summary

Develop the Scaramucci mindset that drives entrepreneurial success.

Hopping Over the Rabbit Hole chronicles the rise, fall, and resurgence of SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci, giving you a primer on how to thrive in an unpredictable business environment. The sheer number of American success stories has created a false impression that becoming an entrepreneur is a can't-miss endeavor - but nothing could be further from the truth. In the real world, an entrepreneur batting .150 goes directly to the Hall of Fame. Things happen. You make a bad hire, a bad strategic decision, or suffer the consequences of an unforeseen market crash. You can't control what happens to your business, but you can absolutely control how you react, and how you turn bumps in the road into ramps to the sky. Anthony Scaramucci has been there and done that again and again, and has ultimately come out on top. In this audiobook, he shares what he wishes he knew then.

Your chances of becoming an overnight billionaire are approximately the same as your chances of being signed to the NBA. Success is hard work, and anxiety, and tiny hiccups that can turn into disaster with a single misstep. This audiobook shows you how to use adversity to your ultimate advantage, and build the skills you need to respond effectively to the unexpected.

  • Learn how to deal with unforeseen events
  • Map a strategic backup plan, and then a backup-backup plan
  • Train yourself to react in the most productive way
  • Internalize the lessons learned by a leader in entrepreneurship

For every 23-year-old billionaire who just created a new way to send a picture on a phone, there are countless others who have failed and failed miserably. Hopping Over the Rabbit Hole gives you the skills, insight, and mindset you need to be one of the winners.

Scaramucci is Key to Making America Great Again

Not being familiar with Anthony Scaramucci, I decided to purchase this book as soon as he was hired to be the White House Communications Director. Scaramucci writes with brutal honesty about building his career as an entrepreneur, giving advice based on his failures and successes.

The book kept me hooked from beginning to end. Scaramucci is a great communicator. If there is one man who can sell the agenda of Making America Great Again it is Scaramucci.

A good book from an interesting author

Was happy to hear from a more humble hedge fund guy like his.

It’s definitely worth a read, but it won’t go on my bookshelf as a classic.

Trying Goodbye Gordon Gecko next.

Pleasantly Surprised

What made the experience of listening to Hopping Over the Rabbit Hole the most enjoyable?

Pretty detailed description and reveals a considerable amount about the author that many wouldnt in the same position most likely.

What other book might you compare Hopping Over the Rabbit Hole to and why?

Its a fairly unique, candid sales and strategy perspective. Some of it is very reminiscent of Harvard Business School course content but in a real world context.

Which scene was your favorite?

Observations regarding human interactions and basically the self destructive nature of infighting/dynamics that shift in multi party conversations/politics later in the book cant be undervalued. He just says it straight up, which I literally havent read it like that even though I've been very aware of the data for many years from several studies among other things and do a considerable amount of diverse reading. They should literally add that to a lower level management course at Harvard. It summarizes something that is that fundamental to human applied behavioral psychology/group dynamics, at least as far as the species currently identified as human currently is, elegantly in 30 seconds in a way people can absorb. It also highlights in the larger context from the book an aspect that practically speaking is undervalued/underutilized in a number of contexts in business considering social media and digital interactions.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A pretty candid exploration of the business experiences and pivots of Anthony Scaramucci.

Any additional comments?

I didnt expect this book to actually get into that much detail. I was pleasantly surprised. Interesting to read a book about something where a good portion of whats discussed you watched unfold in real time in the course of your own day to day business.

Good listen

I felt Mr. Scaramucci incorporated stories to help drive home his points. Items of importance were stated multiple times within a chapter.

Just a GREAT perspective on life and business

Way much more than you may expect. It provides a blueprint for how to conduct yourself inside the business world and how doing the right thing, is always the right thing to do.

Very few speakers who demand my full attention like the Mooch. Awesome-

Boring, long-winded and very hard to listen to

I really like Anthony Scaramucci on TV. His interviews are insightful and he is amazingly well thought out. This book is a major disappointment from that. Voice is hard to listen to and follow, and the nuggets of helpful info are buried in long, numbing stories. At 100 pages or 90 minutes, this could have been great.
