About this listen

FROM THE AUTHOR OF HEMLOCK ISLAND--THE FIRST NOVEL IN THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING OTHERWORLD SERIES

“Frisky...Tells a rather sweet love story, and suggests that being a wolf may be more comfortable for a strong, smart woman than being human.”—The New York Times Book Review

Elena Michaels is the world’s only female werewolf. And she’s tired of it. Tired of a life spent hiding and protecting, a life where her most important job is hunting down rogue werewolves. Tired of a world that not only accepts the worst in her–her temper, her violence—but requires it. Worst of all, she realizes she’s growing content with that life, with being that person.

So she left the Pack and returned to Toronto where she’s trying to live as a human. When the Pack leader calls asking for her help fighting a sudden uprising, she only agrees because she owes him. Once this is over, she’ll be squared with the Pack and free to live life as a human. Which is what she wants. Really.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Hooked and had me guessing till the end

I wasn’t sure at first but I love this author so I gave it a shot. It’s a bit out dated aka most people don’t have cell phones and there’s a landline but other than that I loved it. The story is really well done and feels like you’re there. She had me guessing until the end.

Love, love, love this book!

This is book one of the series and sits the stage for the rild ride of wolfs, love, and war. where you are dangling in the middle somewhere. I can't wait to read the next one.

Keep reading the series, I promise

This is Kelley’s first book, and it shows, but the rest of her books and even this series after the second one are so phenomenally good. If Jeremy is your favorite character (as he is mine), I promise he gets his time to shine later. The narrator did a great job with this audiobook and made my reread much more compelling.

Narration was fantastic - great book

Awesome narrator for such a great book. It sucks they switched to a different narrator for the sequel. I’m almost ready to DNF the sequel over the awful southern accent she gave Clay. This book has a perfect narrator with an awesome southern drawl.
