Publisher's summary

"When you awaken, you will have to find her yourself. Or she will find you."

These were the words given to Rowan Summerwaite by the Goddess as Rowan lay clinging to life. Broken - but not defeated - by the ancient Vampire Enyo.

After weeks of mandatory downtime, a recharged and vengeance-fueled Rowan heads out from her father's Keep, leading a team of some of the most terrifying beings on Earth with one goal in mind - track and eliminate the Vampire who attacked her.

But as the team moves across Europe and is hit with wave after wave of attacks, the tensions between Clive Stewart - the haughty, stylish Scion of North America whom Rowan grew even closer to during her recovery - and a rival Vampire ramp up. Befuddled, confused, flattered, and annoyed, Rowan's the woman in the middle. She's not used to being claimed in a way that's not about how strong her sword arm is or who raised her. Clive Stewart is everything she shouldn't want in a man - he's bossy, he's a Vampire, and he considers her his - but she's past denying how it makes her feel that he fights for her the way he does. She's past denying she's in love.

In contrast to the uneven footing falling in love has given her, Rowan is utterly certain she will locate her quarry. She's stronger and more powerful than she's ever been after the tests and bloody lessons of the past years. Her connection with the Goddess is seamless, and the light of her mission burns from within. And she'll need all the help she can get because it's not very long before Rowan and her team realize the threat is far greater than one crazy old Vampire. There's a war brewing, and Rowan will fight it to the death. It's what she was born to do.

Lauren Dane's Goddess series is AWESOME

I've read and listened (via Audible) to this series a minimum of 10 times. Love what she's done with the characters and the concept and trials of Rowan and Clive's world. I keep buying "the next" in the series (both e-book and audible) and await each new story. Please keep writing this series because as yet, there doesn't look to be an ending and I would miss it terribly. Thank you Ms. Dane from the bottom of my heart, top of my head, ears and eyeballs. Bless you.

It was good.

I agree with other reviews about the narrator. If you go from book to book in the series then yes she is a bit off putting. But if you read the first two take few weeks break and then listen. She is not as bad as you think. You just need to listen to her with some distance away from the other narrator. She is not as good but she is decent and can you do get into the story. I really like these series. It was a pleasant surprise.

It keeps getting better

Rowan and a few others, including Clive are on the hunt for the vamp who tried to kill Rowan in her childhood home. While hunting, they’ve uncovered a growing conspiracy within Hunter Corp that will have Rowan questioning her future while she seeks revenge.

This book was just the right amount of action and dialogue. We’re uncovering a conspiracy, Rowan and Clive are getting even closer, friends and family are coming to Rowan’s aid and bringing more with them.

So far, I’m enjoying the story. Rowan can be a bit mouthy and in some instance corny, but I’m not sure what else I would have expected. Clive is by her side as she navigates not only her seeking revenge but dealing with the fall out.

Definitely moving forward in the series. I need to see more Theo and “The Five”😊

Thank God they changed the narrator!!!

That’s the only reason I was willing to buy the book. The last narrator was awful, this one was much better. The book was entertaining. Light hearted and enjoyable.

Rowan kicks Ass!

another great Rowan Goddess story but this one had too many sex scenes thrown in. i like a good sex scene as much as the next person but it read more like a filler.
i look forward to the next book but i hope Lauren Dane goes back to a great story with some steam thrown in not steam with some story.

Hot Goddess and even Hotter Scion

Where does Blade on the Hunt rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love this series. I had to hear Clive Stewart's voice. The narrator brings the characters to me in such a way that I can relate to the voice and inflections. Blade on the Hunt is probably in my top 15. I enjoy audiobooks and hearing the story after I've read it helps my comprehension as well.

What other book might you compare Blade on the Hunt to and why?

Raven Storm Chronicles by Skye Knizley

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I would have like to hear more range between the characters. Warren was supposed to be Irish and I didn't hear an accent. I also expected to have Theo to have some sort of accent as well.

Any additional comments?

What attracted me to this series: Rowan is the vessel for Brigid but she doesn't end there. She works for Hunter Corp. as an enforcer of sorts. She puts down vampires that stray from the path the treaty ensures for safety of humans. Again, she doesn't end there. She is the foster daughter of the centuries old "First". "First" refers to the very first vampire. He is very violent, petulant at times, and very, very dangerous. Rowan seems like she is the only anchor for the "First." The territories are divided among the strongest of the vampires who all answer to the "First." Those strong vampires are called Scion. The vampire nation is strong with ritual and protocol in order to create order within the ranks. If none of that makes you want to try this series, I'm not sure what will.

I should put a warning label on this series because there are some pretty hot scenes between Rowan and Scion Stewart. Rowan is a foul mouthed, strong willed, determined female that absolutely tests Scion Stewart's last nerve.....and she enjoys it! The tension between the two guarantee a blush or two, but what makes the story a page turner is the conspiracy and mystery.

Love the series but the narrator....

This is the 3rd book in Rowan's story. A vessel to a goddess, Rowan set's out to track down Enyo and end her for her actions at the end of book 2. There is a bit of magic in this book but overall, it all about politics. I must say, at some point the politics becomes too much as a reader. I mean Rowan is all "I can't stand the politics" yet she is quick to do what she wants and damn the consequences. I think at some point the politics angle is more annoying than entertaining.

I don't think I can explain how changing the narrator ruined this series. Eve was not the best but at least I could tell the difference between the first and Clive. With Simone, well I now see David as a freaking child and at times. I can't tell the difference between Alice and Clive! Heck even Clive and Rowan! I would also suggest increasing the narration speed because she drags the story. If you can get past the narration you will be able to enjoy book 3. Unfortunately this is the last book for me. I will re-visit the series if they change the narrator. It took me almost 3 days to finish this book. A book that i normally would have completed in a day.

Bring back original narrator, please

I love this series, but the narrator really makes or breaks the story.
I’m sure there was a reason, but do not see/hear the positives for the buyer.
This is book 3, and lacks the distinct character voices that were so appealing in the first two books. Such a shame. It’s like I’m listening to a new set of characters, and not in a good way.

New narrator almost ruined the book

Such a shame the narrator changed. Very difficult to tell the difference in characters, bridgett is now bland and David sounds like a snotty teenager. The story is good but I'm not sure I'll be able to continue the series with this narrator.
