Still really fun story, but

I would have loved to hear more use of magic. There have been a few spells, but fairly common ones. Still a fun story though.

Entertaining

In Blood Goblet, Mike is forced into an alcohol free life, is a new father, and faces the reality that he no longer has self-control. The story is interesting and fast paced with non-stop action . More of the character backgrounds are revealed in this story. The narrator did a nice job with different voices. Pauses between sentences was a bit slower than I prefer, but found increasing the speed to 1.75x about right. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Oh Mikey!!!

Book 2 doesn’t disappoint!!! Omg!! Action packed from start to finish.
I enjoyed every minute!!
I liked meeting new characters d seeing character growth.

JP Rice did an amazing job at tying in books 1&2. Adding new plots and characters and leaving one doozy of a cliffhanger!!

The world is so rich in mythical creatures and diverse gods. I enjoyed the tie into asian myths as well. I like that Mike and Felix work
Together still. Intrigued as well by this. Since book one made me feel that Felix will work with the highest bidder.

When is book 3???? I need more!!

Great Read

Blood Goblet (Bloodline Awakened #4) was a good read by J.P. Rice. If something happens that is supernatural in Pittsburgh, Mike Merlino’s phone is the first to ring. Mike is a young wizard, who vows to solve the kidnapping of a Shawnee weather spirit. Everything is happening because of a group of immortal sorcerers who are using the spirit to control the weather patterns. They cause tornadoes are Pittsburgh that destroy everything in sight. I enjoyed reading Mike’s journey of filling the Blood Goblet to free Cyclone Woman. I cant wait to read more by the author.

Another exciting Merlino adventure!

J.P. Rice has written another exciting installment in his Bloodline Awakened series. In this book Mr. Rice mixes Shawnee mythology with what appears to me to be perhaps some Japanese mythology (not exactly sure of the actual origin). Merlino has to put together a company to find and acquire the Blood Goblet in order to rescue Cyclone Woman from the remaining members of the Seven Sorcerers.

The book is filled with plenty of action. We also come to know more about the characters as more of their backgrounds are revealed. I also like the fact that each book can be read as a stand alone. They are ended with only a hint of what might come next but nothing so cliffhanging that you are compelled to read the next book unless you enjoy the series and want more Merlino adventures.

Benjamin Allen does a fine job of narrating it. He has a pleasant voice and speaks in a manner that does not have me reversing the audio so that I can hear a section again and better absorb what had just been said. It definitely spoils the story a bit when I have to do that so appreciate it greatly when I don't have to.

I look forward to finding out what J.P. Rice has in store for Merlino in the next book in the series. The preview has definitely whetted my curiosity.
