On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight.

Everything has a cost. And every act of magic exacts a price from its user---maybe a two-day migraine, or losing the memory of your first kiss. But some people want to use magic without paying, and they Offload the cost onto innocents. When that happens, it falls to a Hound to identify the spell's caster---and Allison Beckstrom is the best there is.

Humans have always been fascinated by darkness. Especially the darkness of a city at night, when the black sky is made ever more inky by the pools of illumination dropped under streetlights. Whether the mean streets be in an alternate past charmed with dark magic or the dirty alleyways of futuristic crowded space stations, the city—and its darkened streets—will always fascinate us. Here then, an anthology of all new stories of science fiction and fantasy with a hardboiled noir twist that acknowledge that the city is a living, breathing entity...and it isn’t always on our side.

Love this Series
If you could sum up Blood Trade in three words, what would they be?
Excellent, Intriguing, Humorous
What did you like best about this story?
The interaction between the characters, especially Soul and Jane; Rick and Bruiser; Jane and the Beast.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Molly's husband came clean with Jane. Also, when Rick finally had the talk with Jane.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Molly's husband came clean with Jane. Also Beast and Jane's feelings over kids.
Any additional comments?
I love the series. It gets better with each books. Jane is a very strong character. She holds her own throughout the book. Her right hand man/partner/"brother" is also an excellent supporting character to her. He aids her in her focus and keeps her on track. I love the reader. She makes the series come to life. The audible series would not be the same with Khristine Hvam. Faith Hunter gives our characters their voice. Khristine Hvam makes them audible. I preordered this audible book because I love the series and wanted it as soon as it was available.. Thank you Faith Hunter for the series. Thank you Khristine Hvam for helping the characters come to an audible life. Faith Hunter your choice for the audible series was right on spot when you selected Khristine Hvam. Kiddos to you!!!

Does not disappoint
Wow, it just keeps getting better and better. This time it's mutant vamps and to make it that more challenging Rick and Bruiser both acting as if they own her. To make that much more interesting a bit messy she is at odds with her feelings about Rick knowing she can only be his friend because of the curse and she is really upset at Bruiser for his betrayal. But she can't deny her feelings for either man no matter how much she tries. Oh yeah and Beast does not help her situation wanting to claim them both. It's complicated on so many levels and then comes the vamps with more of their intrigue and mystery that leaves Jane floundering from one clue to another. Oh and more witches are missing. Jane has to unravel all the clues and quickly or more people are going to die and the balance of power will shift and not for the better. Go Jane.

I loved it
First, I love that Jane now has Eli and Alex in her life. She needed them so much. I thought Hunter would make Eli a love interest for Jane, but I am glad that they are just family. Jane needs family in her life. Her love life is complicated enough with Rick and George. I am still not sure which team I am on. I think I am with Beast; Jane should have them both. LOL
Blood Trade once again mixed magic with vampires in a way that no one expected. Jane wasn’t even prepared for them. I love that I never figure out what is going on before Jane.
I am always right there with her.
The story unfolds for me at the same time it does for her. Nothing is ever given away.
I am still in love with this series, 5 Boundless Stars.

The latest book in an excellent series
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would absolutely recommend this book to a friend. The characters are rich and interesting. The plots are well developed and well written. It is great moment when I come across something in the writing that really sings.
What did you like best about this story?
Jane Yellowrock is a very rich character and I love to go along with her on the adventure. She is tough and resilient.
Which character – as performed by Khristine Hvam – was your favorite?
Jane is the star of the book but all of the characters are well written and performed.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The entire book is a real thrill.
Any additional comments?
You can read the books in any order but you will get the most from them if you start from the beginning and have time to build an affection for Jane and an appreciation for all of the key characters and their history.

Fun, but with reservations.
I enjoyed this book's plot. My biggest qualm with this series is that there is too much indecision in Jane's private life. She needs to hurry up and actually chose one or the other of her potential mates. Five books in and I can't even remember a real date that Jane's been on. Even more annoying is the fact that it looks like indecision will continue to be the modus opperendi for the next book too. Jane has been stuck in this situation for months, if not years now. She needs to break out of it for the character to seem believable to me. It's getting to the point of being silly.

Jane is always entertaining
Would you listen to Blood Trade again? Why?
hmmm.....maybe
What other book might you compare Blood Trade to and why?
The story flows from the series, so you have to be a fan to understand it all
What does Khristine Hvam bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She really personalizes each characters voice, each distinctly different
Any additional comments?
always a fun listen
