Publisher's summary

Born Again is the autobiography of one of the most influential men of our time. It is not only a remarkable story of one man's redemption in Christ, but a fascinating look inside the events of one of America's most riveting sagas.

In the 1970s, against the backdrop of the explosive Watergate scandal, Charles Colson revealed the story of his own search for meaning during the tumultuous investigations that led to the collapse of the Nixon administration. A convicted former special counsel to the president, Colson paradoxically found new life - not with success and power, but while in national disgrace and serving a prison sentence.

Outstanding

Would you consider the audio edition of Born Again to be better than the print version?

Have not read the book, but the audio version adds a lot of color & expression that words cannot replicate.

What other book might you compare Born Again to and why?

Never Surrender by Lt Gen Jerry Boykin - both faced tremendous scrutiny & persecution in their powerful positions in the US Govt/Military. But through their faith & peace in Jesus, they were able to come thru the turmoil and go on to impact many many persons to the Kingdom.

Which character – as performed by Jon Gauger – was your favorite?

I loved Pres Nixon's persona presented

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I captured my full attention. I listened to the first 10 chapters in the first sitting!

Any additional comments?

Outstanding testimony of how power, prestige & position are not enough to fulfill the inner void that only a personal relationship with Jesus can fill.

Definitely Top Ten

This is definitely one of the best books I have ever read. It's right up there with such literature as:
Saving Leonardo by Nancy Pearcey
The Consequences of Ideas by R. C. Sproul
The Soul of Science by Nancy Pearcey and (haha) Chuck Colson
The Shack by William Paul Young
The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis
Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis
And other great books that I don't remember the names of. I would recommend this book, along with all the others, to anyone who would listen. This very much earned a 5/5 rating.

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook so much!

I started out reading Born Again by text and then switched to audio so that I could get other things done. Initially, I couldn’t keep up with all the different names especially in the earlier chapters, but it got better and better then I switched to audio around chapter 12. I couldn’t stop listening until it was done, in fact, I was sad when I realized I was at the last chapter! Very well done!

Wow.

My husband and I both enjoyed Chuck's story. Definitely worth the time and money. Chuck's witness reminds us that we are all tempted and must surrender daily to God's purpose, not mans'.

Born Again is a great book. The beginning of Chuck Colson’s life ministry.

This was the first book I ever read from beginning to end. It really touched me.

Worth the "read'

I loved this story. it was so incredibly moving and relatable. I loved when Colson found the Lord and found that peace that comes with belief.

Strong historical autobiography

I was young enough when Watergate was going on that I don't remember. This was a powerful book and I had trouble putting it down.
