Publisher's summary

She bound him in chains, he repaid her in kind, now she is bound to him, in more ways than one.

Caden Maignart must choose a wife and sire a son - a burden weighing heavily upon him as the firstborn son of a high lord. Weighing even more heavily is the notion of impending war, which has become a near certainty thanks to the volatile feud brewing between two families entrenched in hate. Caden knows that the key to mending things between their families lies in Lady Gwendolyn Toustain, the daughter of his family's mortal enemies, but earning her trust will prove to be an uphill battle.

Gwen trusted Caden, a mistake that led to her becoming his prisoner. All hope is lost when it comes to forging peace between their houses; unless she relents and agrees to marry her captor. While passion and desire led her into Caden's trap, Gwen is not certain she can bring herself to become his prisoner for life - in the bonds of holy matrimony.

Yet, the kingdom of Alemere is at stake, as are the lives of people they both love. Caden and Gwen will be forced to forge a path toward peace - not only within the realm, but within their complicated and volatile bond.

When the line becomes blurred between captor and captive, who will be the first to bend?

Surprisingly interesting period fake piece ?bwwm?

I'm hooked.. At first I felt the fake period piece was weird but now I'm eager to find out what is going to happen to the characters.. Who is the father?? Will there be peace?? etc etc. I think this is worth a credit/money if this is your type of love story... This is different.. The dark skinned female does NOT have issues with her hair due to her washing it EVERYDAY.. Small details like that made me laugh.. This is #2 book/story.. looking forward to #3 in audible version.

Better than the first book...

The last 45 min made up only slightly for the rest of the book which was a frustration of wishy washy Caden looking for a wife (not Gwen), having sex with her while doing so and while she is his prisoner; Gwen escaping him and then again escaping some other people; and the political plots and machinations coming to a head.
I just did not see the romance here until the last 45 min and even then it was muddled by the introduction of new drama meant to entice us to read the next book... well no thank you!

SPOILER: I’m taking my shotgun wedding, declaration of love under the stars, and fervent assurances that any child of Gwen’s is a child of Caden’s. Full stop, the end, no more needed! Phew!

Amazing read

Would you consider the audio edition of Bound to be better than the print version?

I've never read the print version and it all depends on the person which is better. I am one of those people that is happy with both, but it would be a good read which ever way you want to read it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bound?

One of the biggest moments in my mind is one of the biggest giveaways about the book so I won't say it i'll just say you need to remember the great hall and leave it at that.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved all the bantering between the different characters. I don't have any one favorite moment I just prefer the moments that make me smile

Any additional comments?

This is an awesome story from happy to sad and exciting to shocking. The entire time I was listening I could barely do anything else. I loved every moment of the story and at times it was hard to remember that it is supposed to be a historical romance instead of a modern day one. If you read this story and don't fall in love with it you don't know a good book when you find one.

5 Stars!

My review of Bound by Elise Marion

This book is a 5 star story! With great narration!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the second book in the Chained Trilogy! I listened to it on Audible after listening to Chained, Book One. I finished Bound in less than 24 hours because it was just that great to make me binge listen. Bound continues the story of Chained. You have a hero and heroine that are meant to be together but have so many obstacles in their way. The story unravels the chaos and who the culprits to all of the evil are. I loved all the different stories of all the characters involved and how neatly they were tied into the story. The ending was one I was hoping for. I am now ready to spend the day listening to The Heir, Book Three of the Chained Trilogy.

Who is the Captor and who is the Captive..

Any additional comments?

This book was pretty good.

I liked that most of the female characters are strong, No whiny princesses, etc.

All of the characters were interesting and well rounded.

There were a few twists, turns, loss, love, threats of war, and the chemistry between Gwen and Caden was pretty intense.

Eric Burns did rather well with the narration.

EXCELLENT SEQUEL THAT PULLS ALL PARTS TOGETHER

Any additional comments?

I was given this book by the author, as well as book one, in order that I may experience the full story after receiving book three through Audiobook Boom for an honest review.

The cast of characters is large so it's important to listen to the books in succession. Elise Marion does a skillful job in tying together the intricate webs of betrayal and hatred from book one. I still applaud her portrayal of Gwen as her personal strength of character never wavers. Neither MC falls from their perfectly scripted personalities. I really enjoyed the playfulness between them once their union is solidified.

As in the first book, Eric Burns did a fantastic job rendering the male voices. And, as in the first book, his female voices weren't to my liking. He will be a force in the dual narration stories; count on it.

I love the world created and look forward to future books about the characters I've come to know. Thank you, Elise, for allowing me the full experience. I've already listened to the next book and am pleased to be about to write a good review on it, also!

Worth your time and credit!

Any additional comments?

If you like medieval romance stories don't miss this series.

This is just a darn good, well written medieval romance. Fantastic story with great characters. I enjoyed this book even more than the first. Very entertaining, engaging and enjoyable.

Everything that made the first book fantastic are present as well in this book including plenty of action, suspense, intrigue, romance, love, honor, greed, betrayal and more.

Without giving anything away the story continues to progress and the plot gets more intricate continuing to pull you into the kingdom of Alemere as well as the lives of Maignart's and the Toustain's.

Eric Burns once again did a great job with the narration. I'm glad they used the same narrator again. It keeps the continuity in story. Great character voices. Clearly spoken. Smooth even pace with the narration. He has the perfect voice for this series.

Enjoyed storyline

Story and performance were very intriguing . However the picture on the jacket of the book makes no sense. The main character “Caden” (since this is an audiobook I’m not sure of the spelling) speaks with a Scottish accent yet his picture is one of a South or Central American male.
