Always struggled with assertiveness
I have always struggled with assertiveness, even if I KNOW im in the right I feel it is very difficult to really stand up for myself and do it without starting a fight - all that is set to change. Impressed with what I learnt, made me see things in a very very different light. Managed to have a "difficult" conversation today, something I would have avoided before.

Heads up - parents with daughters
As I was listen this book, it struck me how important it is to learn how to stand up for yourself in general, but most especially what a vital lesson it is for girls to learn. At a time in history when girls/women are finally being recognized for their worth, prioritizing self confidence is so important. While the author doesn't address girls specifically, each chapter can certainly be listen with growing girls in mind.

Empowering book
It is important to set boundaries in life, and doing so doesn't mean you are being selfish, it just means you are establishing a buffer to help you better anticipate and manage stress.
