I usually don’t like the duel readers audio books but I loved this one. Waiting patiently for the next one

Story builds to an exciting pace!

Actors voices were a bit exaggerated at times, but improved with the story.
Story was slow at first and certain parts get a bit long winded.
But I’m the whole, it kept me at the edge of my seat.

incredible voice actors

The story is good a bit predictable in parts, but the voice actors are fantastic and really pull you into their world. I'm excited for the next book.

I enjoyed listening to this one, I’d listen to it again for sure. I was hesitant about it at first but glad I caved and got it!

Inventive magical system longing romance

I recommend reading this book and the second book together. This book series contains an inventive magical system, unexpected folly for the main characters, underlying villains which are not explained, and romance that is not necessarily resolved until the second book. The sexual content of this book is relatively innocent, which I actually found kind of refreshing. I would be comfortable with a 16-year-old reading this book series through the second book. I do not know about the third yet. If you're looking for heavy sexual content this is not the book for you. I will be honest I skipped a whole bunch of chapters in the middle because I was not thrilled with a certain aspect of the story and wanted to move on from. Part of the middle of the book felt like filler, and I just wanted to move past that to the bulk of the storyline. There's a turn of events where the characters make a decision that doesn't make a lot of sense to me and once that happened I skipped those chapters because it was just a silly solution to a problem that did not exactly makes sense, but when you get to that part you'll see what I mean. The second book is much better than the first but I do recommend them being read together to understand what's going on. The main issue between the two love interest characters is that they need to have more communications. I can remember thinking just tell each other everything and this would be resolved, but such is the situation and most relationships. With all of these caveats I would recommend the book series so far to a friend. I have not read the third book yet, but to that point I'd be okay with it. These are just my opinions respectively.

This world and it’s characters have taken hold of my heart. Each of the trials they have all faced has enraptured me. Their loss, their battles, their love, the secrets, all of it. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
