They are discovered by a teenage girl and in exchange for her silence, agree to help her and her friends with an upcoming Euclidean geometry test at their elite preparatory boarding academy, Fox Ridge School. Kelton's time on and around campus has him suspecting a vulnerable student is at risk. He decides to stick around for a few days to make sure all is right. The town’s underlying ruthlessness is exposed with violent assaults on prominent men and Kelton begins to realize he is in a race against time. Not only must he and Azrael save the victim from her own decisions, he must do it before his budding feelings for Abriella spin around his moral compass.
