Regency Cthulhu where quaint meets eldritch.
Lovely story that has enough horror to satisfy long time Call of Cthulhu fans. The plot is fairly straightforward, but with nice surprises and more hope than other weird tales. The romance is sweet. The wicked are gruesome. An enjoyable read for those who want a little extra spooky in their regency literature.

Manners and Monsters
I think it’s genius to combine Lovecraft’s dark gods and monstrosities with Jane Austen’s English manners and sensibilities. This book serves as a great introduction for romance readers who want to dip their toes into darker fiction, but also works in the reverse for horror readers who want to get a taste of historical romance.
The hinting of greater things happening in the background due to the Napoleonic wars is ripe with possibilities, and I hope we see more books taking advantage of this setting!
