About this listen

Not all the Belles will survive....

Twins Emma and Briar have immersed themselves in the paranormal underbelly of Charleston, South Carolina, a world filled with magic, mystery, ghosts, and more.

When the forces of dark magic are brought to bear against them and their sister Belles, they’ll need help from shifters and a shaman to reach a final confrontation at Angel Oak. Along the way, one Belle finds love, while another is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Carolina Conjuring concludes the Hell’s Belles Trilogy. It’s filled with a deep dive into the background of many of the characters and the history of the South Carolina Lowcountry, and it’s loaded with non-stop supernatural action. Besides, where else will you meet a headless ghost, attend a mermaid’s funeral, and learn how a Belle helped influence the writing of one of the best-selling novels of all-time?

What an ending.... spoilers

Have to say, I enjoyed the little series, had it's flaws, but it was entertaining, good guys, bad guys, lots of conflict without explainations, though some of them came and were rather... flat? The series felt a bit rushed, but that is alright, and even as there were too many points of view to keep up with and the i blame/hate you but yah, i trust you issues... yadda yadda yadda. It was still a good story.

My problem is with the end, it's like when a series is cancled, (pointing finger) you, your dead, you too, and you, we don't need you any more, oh, and you are now a miracle worker and can keep these two alive, but the other HAS to die she was too popular. It felt like the writer had nothing more to say and needed a quick wrap up... and she wrote it. About the only thing right about the whole ending chapters is when she had the little boy that lost his true love stab the bad guy in the back! Sorry, names are sort of ... not there right now, the ending was really just wrong.

I love books that end happy, I love the bad guy getting his/her just desserts, but I want it believable, a lot to ask. but killing off characters because you don't need them any more... and have NO clue about how to carry them forward.

My recommendation is to listen to the first two books and in the third listen up to the boys kidnappings, end it there and make up your own ending. You will be happier, you might not want to read the third book, but sometimes you need a little help getting to your happy ending.

Good luck!

Meh

I've been on a witch/supernatural kick recently and decided to give the Hell's Belles Series a try. The first book was actually quite enjoyable - I found myself laughing out loud in my office during tax season which is not an everyday occurrence. With that said, the rest of the series came across as somewhat stilted and the conclusion was definitely... strange. I almost got the sense that the author was kind of over the story and just wanted it to end. It was entertaining for the most part so I'm not sorry I listened to it but there are definitely others I would recommend over this series.
