Good

I was up and down with the push and pull of this book. I get it... you were cheated on... daddy issues... maybe I’m not that type of person to hate all and judge all by a few messed up people. Don’t get me wrong I’ll Judge the guilty till death cause I hold grudges. (Lol) But I still give it 4 starts because of self discovery and actually trying new things. If you are not open to try then your stuck and just an empty book. But well developed characters and once opened up became beautiful together. And I loved the cute ending.

funny and sexy

I thought it was very funny (I got caught laughing out loud at my desk) and sexy. A bit implausible, but all romance novels are, that's why we read them, right? I thought it was a nice light hearted novel that inspires me to go home and bite my husband. In an affectionate way.

A Fun Book

This is another light, fun book from Gena Showalter. It's very different than the Lords of the Underworld series. The characters are interesting and I really enjoyed the humor in the book.

Cute, fluffly, and covered in cheese!

Any additional comments?

I love Gena Showlater. I was so looking forward to this little book that sounded amusing. It was good. It was just a bit cheesy. Nothing wrong with cheesy. Just from the depth and heart she puts in some of her other books I expected a bit more. I was still highly amused and enjoyed the book. I just had to adjust my expectations a bit. Overall it was a fun, light, listen for the days you are feeling a bit glum. If you want anything meaningful this isn't the book. It is cheesy fluff. Sometimes that is fun too.

Caught in the Act.

There are some pluses and minuses to this story. I loved the fighting back and forth between the main characters it was pretty funny. I liked all the pickup lines at the beginning of each chapter, they were also amusing. What I didn't overly like was how bitter and closed off the heroine had become after a child hood tragedy. It was just sad to see her so damaged that it affected her whole life which made her less likable. And although I liked this book it is kinda a man hating book, but the author points that out and tries to show that heart ache can go both ways. Overall it is a fluffy filler book, no real depth but funny and a quick read. The first half of the book is better than the last and I wasn't fond of the side story. Narrator was ok, nothing really stuck out as good or bad.

Wanted to love it but found it lacking

First, let me say that I am a huge Gena Showalter fan so it pains me to give a less than stellar review.

I was interested in the concept of the story and was satisfied with its progression in the first half. However, as the story sped toward its conclusion, I started to question how it was going to wrap up in a way that would be both satisfying and (at least somewhat) realistic.

Alas, the story wrap up felt abrupt and rushed. The main female character (at the end) responded so drastically opposite to her initial persona that it made her dealings with her love interest hard to believe. Perhaps if a good side story is crafted with Jake as the main character I will give this story line another try. But honestly it will have to have much more substance to be worth my time.

get on with it already!!!!

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Zoe was awesome......she was the reason I didnt stop listening

Any additional comments?

There was too much self doubt and way way too much inside their head talk lol, not enough back and forth between characters....I didnt like the female character she was way to bitchy, I mean some bitchy could be fun but she was just to over the top.... I loved Zoe's english accent for Mark... The sex scenes were pretty hott.. But over all I had to kick the speed up to 2.5.... Kept saying to myself JUST GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!!!!

Cute and funny...

I didn't think I was going to like this book at first but was pleasantly surprised. The main characters were funny and realistic, and the supporting characters were well-developed. I even liked the narrator's portrayal of the lead male's British accent. Nice job.

Terrible Accent

I don't normally look for a whole lot of substance in chick lit, but I definitely expected better from this book. It was weak, and a little nonsensical.

Also, given the fact that one of the main characters was of English descent, I would have expected them to find a narrator who could actually pull off an English accent. Horrible!
