Publisher's summary

Her career in homicide has taken her into the darkest depths of New York City’s underground - and sometimes Lieutenant Eve Dallas feels more comfortable in those kinds of places than in the high-rise, high-society world of her billionaire husband, Roarke. But while she’s no party girl, she’s managing to have a reasonably good time at the celebrity-packed bash celebrating the debut of The Icove Agenda. This time it’s Eve, not Roarke, who’s a guest of honor, since the film is based on one of her famous cases. Her partner, Peabody, is practically giddy over rubbing shoulders with Hollywood royalty. Eve, on the other hand, is more likely to roll her eyes than have stars in them. But she has to admit it’s a little spooky seeing the actress playing her, who looks almost like her long-lost twin. Not as unsettling, though, as seeing K. T. Harris, the actress who plays Peabody - drowned in the lap pool on the roof of the director’s luxury building. Talented but rude, and widely disliked, K.T. had made an embarrassing scene during dinner. She clearly liked being the center of attention. Now she’s at the center of a crime scene - and Eve is more than ready to get out of her high heels and strap on her holster, to step into the role she was born to play: cop.

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

Lights , Camera and 🎬 Action

This was a clever and entertaining one.

The filming of Nadine's book about The Icove Case bring Eve and Rourke , Peabody and all others with the actors who play them in the movie. A

All is fun and games until the actor playing Peabody gets dead.

Another strong installment in the series

Slow and totally credible character development, including just about the most perfect scene between Peabody and McNab ever, in their little shared kitchenette. Great plot twist that I sure didn't see coming!

series still going strong

Would you consider the audio edition of Celebrity in Death to be better than the print version?

I can't compare the two but I have read other books in this series and I do find the audio books to be a more enjoyable experience.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Roark of course. He balances out Eve and he is very fun.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. She is consistently good.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Mariska Hargitay and Colin Ferrell

Another Great One!

Loved the latest installment of Eve and the rest. Not as dark as New York to Dallas, so that was nice. Wish we could get more than 2 a year!!

An interesting twist for this series

Another great installment in this wonderful series. This book is a murder mystery centered on the book and movie about the Icove case from Origin In Death. All the usual beloved characters are here. A good mystery that took a little longer to figure out than some of the others. Loved how the murderer just lost it in the end. Excellently performed by Susan Ericksen as usual.

Another great book

Love this series. And it would not be the same without Susan Erickson's narration!

Great book

I love the book. I have read all the books in the series, they have all been wonderful. Good character development. The killer is not too obvious. I love the narrator. It's a good escape from reality for a few hours

True to the In Death series

Would you consider the audio edition of Celebrity in Death to be better than the print version?

Yes, audio gives a more involved feel for the story

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Nothing

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

The In Death series wouldn't be the same withour Susan. If you've listen to other books in this series you'd miss her voice and it would feel the same.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really

Enjoyable, kept me guessing

Would you consider the audio edition of Celebrity in Death to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version. I'm an audible convert and rarely consider print books now.

What did you like best about this story?

I'm enjoying this series, feeling like I'm getting to know and care about the characters. I consider the books reasonably intelligent fluff and escapism. The plot is well written and formulated, so that you only really know who the murderer is when the author allows you to see and it is unexpected.

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A book read to you with different 'voices' becomes like a radio play. I think it was well done.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes
