About this listen

Count 'em - a dozen carrot topped, freckle-faced kids. Dad, a jovial optimist, successful inventor, and efficiency expert is fond of doing his work at home. Mom, a psychologist, is busy putting everything she knows into practice.

Listen along and discover the strange things that happen when Dad's experiments run awry…how Frank Jr. gets left behind at a roadside restaurant…how the whole clan has their tonsils out en masse…experience a first date with Dad in the backseat, or treeing a peeping Tom...

You can be sure they're not only cheaper, they're funnier by the dozen.

Loved in print, even more in Audio!

I loved reading this book, it is so light hearted and fun. I loved this audio version of it as much if not more so than the printed copy! We all need to just kick back and enjoy a belly laugh every now and then, this book is just the ticket! Try it, you won't be sorry!

Delightful, purely lovely!

We listened to this production while driving in the car. We so looked forward to it! We all enjoyed and learned much from this family of 14!

Childhood Memories

I recently re-discovered this audiobook. It is one that I listen to every night as a child. It has been so lovely to hear these words that are so elegantly, entertainingly narrated

Sentimental and funny

I remembered watching the original movie ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ when I was a little girl. I listened to this while walking each day and found myself laughing out loud. It is hard to imagine the US culture 100 years ago, but this makes it real.

Excellent voices

The narrator had excellent voices for each of the characters. The piano music at the beginning of each chapter was too loud though.

Five stars from the whole family

This narrative offers something for parents and children alike. I was surprised that even our 4 year old son asks to listen to Cheaper By the Dozen. Entertaining and inspiring!

One of my all time FAVORITES

The story is fabulous and inspiring for me as a parent. The performance is magnificent. I am an avid reader, but this is one book I will ALWAYS listen to rather than read because of the brilliance of the narrator!
