2 books in 1

I love this series of books. Kate Forbes is amazing at bringing the story alive. I must say I'm not thrilled with all the flashbacks. The first couple of books where she split the story from current times to history were ok, but I find it dragging the story line now. If I had wanted a history lesson I would've picked one to listen to instead of this book. I love the series but I wish she'd just stick with these amazing characters and stop the flashbacks. I just skipped all the chapters that wasn't current.

Two time periods, AGAIN!

I don't know about most of you out there, but I would prefer all of one book about Mrs. Murphy, Harrie, and friends. Then write a companion series about the families around the revolution on the same properties. I'm getting old with sleep apnea and fall asleep unexpectedly then have to backtrack to find out what I missed. Since I'm using Audible audiobooks this isn't as easy as dropping a printed book. Ah, well, I'm obviously addicted to Mrs. Murphy and friends as well as the author's Sister Jane series. If you feel the same addiction, then you won't want to miss this book.

Who is Harriet?

Missing the original charm & characters of the series. The main character, Mary Minor Harristein, has been renamed & lacks the connection to her hometown that drew me to the series. The animals are, as expected and the time period changes don't bother me, but I think it's time to wrap that storyline up.

Book 30 and author fails to name title character c

I am done with Rita Mae Brown. How on book 30 can she nor the publisher nor the editor failed to see that the title character's name was wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. If the author and publisher cannot be bothered to correct these types of errors before going to print I cannot be bothered to read a single solitary word more.
