As the youngest in her family, Dory really wants attention; and more than anything, she wants her brother and sister to play with her. But she's too much of a baby for them, so she's left to her own devices - including her wild imagination and untiring energy. Her siblings may roll their eyes at her childish games, but Dory has lots of things to do: outsmarting the monsters all over the house, escaping from prison (aka time-out), and exacting revenge on her sister's favorite doll.

Holy unanticipated occurrences! It begins, as the best superhero stories do, with a tragic accident that has unexpected consequences. The squirrel never saw the vacuum cleaner coming, but self-described cynic Flora Belle Buckman, who has read every issue of the comic book Terrible Things Can Happen to You!, is the just the right person to step in and save him. What neither can predict is that Ulysses (the squirrel) has been born anew, with powers of strength, flight, and misspelled poetry - and that Flora will be changed too.

When Sophie hears that the giants are flush-bunking off to England to swollomp a few nice little chiddlers, she decides she must stop them once and for all. And the BFG is going to help her!

Twelve-year-old Dory Byrne lives with her brothers on New York City's Lower East Side, waiting impatiently through the darkest hours of World War II for her pop to come home from fighting Hitler. Legally speaking, Dory's brother, Fish, isn't old enough to be in charge of Dory and her younger brother, Pike, but the neighborhood knows the score and, like Pop always says, "the neighborhood will give you what you need." As the youngest in her family, Dory really wants attention; and more than anything, she wants her brother and sister to play with her. You can learn a lot about life by observing another species. That's what Humphrey was told when he was first brought to Room 26. And boy, is it true! In addition to having FUN-FUN-FUN in class, each weekend this amazing hamster gets to sleep over with a different student, like Lower-Your-Voice-A.J. and Speak-Up-Sayeh. Soon Humphrey learns to read, write, and even shoot rubber bands (only in self-defense, of course). With lots of friends to help, adventures to enjoy, and a cage with a lock-that-doesn't-lock, Humphrey's life is almost perfect. If only the teacher wasn't out to get him!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Good story--worth the read/listening.
Which character – as performed by Jessica Almasy – was your favorite?
n/a
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Any additional comments?
Bought this audio book for my daughter to read along with her printed version of the same title. The audio book was missing content from the printed version. She was disappointed and quickly lost interest in continuing reading along.

Ouch! When you have a good teacher....
What did you like best about this story?
Clementine's teacher obviously just clicks with Clementine. They are a match you wish all kids had in school. When Clementine realizes she might lose her teacher she just writes what she thinks will keep her teacher in her school.
What about Jessica Almasy’s performance did you like?
Perfect!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not required to listen in one sitting but it is short and full of laughs.
Any additional comments?
For reasons I do not understand, some of these books are listed as Sarah Pennypacker and others are Sara Pennypacker. Make sure you see all 6 books when you search for Clementine. While not exactly critical, it is helpful to listen in order. First is Clementine, second is The Talented Clementine, 3rd - Clementine's Letter, 4th - Friend of the Week, 5th - Family Meeting, 6th - Spring Trip.

Good stories, too expensive though
I liked books 2 through 7 in the Clementine series more than the first one. I have to admit, they are pretty good. My daughter loved them and I eventually warmed up to them.
What I did not warm to was the price. Each book is about two hours long, but they are priced the same as much longer books. That doesn’t seem fair.
If they were sold in bundles of 3 or maybe even 2 stories I would be good with that. But at one credit per book, I will return them, get my credits back, and get longer books for my kids. Maybe if this series goes on sale, I’ll re-buy them then.
