About this listen

Fearless adventurer Dirk Pitt must unravel a historical mystery of epic importance in the latest novel in the beloved New York Times best-selling series created by the “grand master of adventure” Clive Cussler.

In 1959 Tibet, a Buddhist artifact of immense importance was seemingly lost to history in the turmoil of the Communist takeover. But when National Underwater and Marine Agency Director Dirk Pitt discovers a forgotten plane crash in the Philippine Sea over 60 years later, new clues emerge to its hidden existence.

But Pitt and his compatriot Al Giordino have larger worries when they are ordered to recover a failed hypersonic missile from Luzon Strait. Only someone else is after it, too...a rogue Chinese military team that makes their own earthshattering discovery, hijacking a ship capable of stirring the waters of the deep into a veritable Devil’s Sea.

From the cold dark depths of the Pacific Ocean to the dizzying heights of the Himalaya Mountains, only Dirk Pitt and his children, Summer and Dirk Jr., can unravel the mysteries that will preserve a religion, save a nation...and save the world from war.

So good!

I never would’ve guessed this was written by anyone other than Clive. Dirk did an amazing job, and Scott Brick was as excellent as ever. Throughly enjoyed.

The king is dead. Long live the king!

Dirk Cussler has done his father proud. He didn’t fill his shoes, he didn’t have to, he’s wearing a brand new pair! His new book “The Devil’s Sea” provides the excitement, the thrills and storyline that only a Cussler can provide!

Wow! Another thrilling episode from Clive Cussler!

The master of suspense, the twist and turns of this artistry are miraculous. Clive brings them together with skill. One of my favorite books. Thanks

A Chip of the Old Block!

I was devastated when we lost Mr. Cuddled thinking we also lost the adventures of Dirk and Al; however, this book kept me enthralled from beginning to end! Looking forward to many more.

Fabulous

What a ride, so lovely to read the twins again in the story. It's action paced, full of drama. The storylines were great I really enjoy the Tibetan story with Summer & Dirk jnr. Then Dirk & Al never disappoint either. Narration was great.

Clive The Man

Loved it as usually. Never ending action, and great story line. Cussler never disappoints. Can't wait for another book.

One Of The Best In Years

I've read almost every Dirk Pitt Adventure by Clive and all by both Clive and Dirk. I didn't know exactly what to expect as Dirk Cussler takes on the sole writing responsibility, but it was awesome. I loved the history, the adventure and Dirk and Al did it again. It was fun and had a very cool ending. I think this is one of the best Dirk Pitt adventures in the past few years and can't wait to read the next one. Scott Brick is always amazing!
