Story
My life was going just fine by most standards. I ran a successful business in a tight-knit magical community, and lived just blocks from a beautiful lake and series of hiking trails. Then Selene showed up. According to some magical code I inherit my aunt's ancient familiar; a grumpy ten-pound cat with a broken filter. She fancies herself something of a saber-toothed tiger, and claims to have wrestled the thread of her ninth life from the hands of the Fates themselves—although, I'm pretty sure that last part isn't true. Almost positive.

Story
Interior decorator Madison Night might look like a throwback to the 60s, but as business owner and landlord, she proves that independent women can have it all. When a killer targets women dressed in her signature style - estate sale vintage to play up her resemblance to fave actress Doris Day - what makes her unique might make her dead. The local detective connects the new crime to a 20-year-old cold case, and Madison's long-trusted contractor emerges as the leading suspect.

lighthearted fun
This is a cozy mystery set in Florida with younger people, no mansions, and pets.
Dixie has suffered through a major tragedy and is just starting to come alive again. The details about Florida life were interesting. As a dog lover the pet angle was fun too. My only problem with the book is the way it ended. It wasn't a bad ending but it needed a couple more paragraphs. I will be reading more of these.

Good read
If you could sum up Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter in three words, what would they be?
Intriguing story of a ex-officer turned animal caretaker
Any additional comments?
This is the first opportunity to read her. Now I'm a fan.

Love these Quirky series.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this to a friend. It is a nice funny book with a great reader.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I wouldn't say on the edge of my seat, but it kept me interested.
Which character – as performed by Julia Gibson – was your favorite?
Well, I liked them all but I guess I will go with the main character, Dixie.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would have enjoyed that except for I mostly listen to books in my car and 8+ hours in my car at one time doesn't sound very fun.
Any additional comments?
I love these quirky stories. I had actually listened to this one on CD a long time ago but still enjoyed listening to it again. I will be looking for more of these. I love that she has normal household pets in her story but doesn't make them out to be super animals. They are just normal pets doing what normal pets do.

Surprisingly Good!
This is my first Blaize Clement book, and when it first started (the first murder was so bizarre), I thought, "Oh, no, I've done it again" (some of my choices lately have not been that great), but as I continued to listen I actually found myself enjoying it.
It's a light mystery with a surprising ending. Julie Gibson reads well and has a pleasant voice.
I appreciate Audible having these sales, as it gives us an opportunity to listen to different authors/books we may not have wanted to take a chance on otherwise, not wanting to waste a credit.

Refreshing Read
What did you love best about Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter?
The book is very interesting, with a refreshing cast of characters and a modern leading character who has real-life concerns, foibles, and family. Left me wanting more of the same!
What other book might you compare Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter to and why?
Except for the 90-year difference in settings, the book reminded me very much of the Maisie Dobbs series.
Any additional comments?
I hope more books by this author are recorded!

Fast paced read
This was a fun and quick read. I liked the cat sitter aspect and I also like the heroine's attitude and at times salty language! There were a couple of parts where I actually laughed out loud. It was a good start to a series, but I'm not sure whether or not I will continue with the entire series. This is probably one that I would pick up if was in the mood for a light read. The characters are fun and I can see that there is plenty of room for character development as the series progresses.
I listened to this through Audible and the narration was fine. However, the editing drove me nuts. There were long pauses at times, sometimes between chapters and sometimes for no apparent reason. At other times, the chapter was announced so quickly, it sounded like a continuation of the previous sentence. Also, the book was broken up into two parts for easy downloading; normally, there is a sensical reason for the stopping point. Not here - it abruptly stops and then starts again, seemingly in the middle of a paragraph - they could have done a better job with that.

I learned so many things about MY cat
Not only did I get a great mystery in this book - it also gave me a few tricks that my cat my cat enjoyed.
The characters in this book were fun, the story line interested me to the end and though I saw some parts of the ending coming - many I didn't.
What a fun read!!!

Great mystery
The main character has a few rage issues she needs to deal with but otherwise I found it a very entertaining mystery. Since she's a pet sitter you also get to be entertained by a few animals. There were twists and turns, a few surprises, and some great characters. There are, of course, some bad characters which is what you would expect in a murder mystery. There were a few loose threads that could have been tied up but they may be in future books in the series. Unfortunately Audible only has two books in the series so far.
The narrator was perfect for the book and brought all the characters to life. She was even pretty good with the male voices.
